Hot Chocolate

Has your sweet tooth been hurting you lately? Here's another way to get your chocolate fix - guilt free.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. You will need 2 standard sized mugs (8-12 oz.) for this beverage which is easiest prepared using a microwave, although you could use a stovetop. Have a teaspoon ready for stirring.
  2. To one mug, add the dry ingredients: the Splenda (or equivalent substitute) and the cocoa, like Hershey's brand.
  3. Add the non-fat milk to the other mug. Place this mug in the microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes, or until the milk is very hot to touch (not quite boiling but not curdled).
  4. Pour milk into the mug with the dry ingredients. Stir vigorously. This will make the hot chocolate nice and frothy, with a good body (contributing to the illusion that you made it with a higher-fat milk).
  5. Taste your creation. If it is not sweet enough, cautiously add additional sweetener. If desired, add the vanilla extract, as well. Re-stir as needed.

Dairy is not allowed on Fat Flush
ok nutrion on swiss miss is 24 carbs so not much differance between that and this. So on the occasions where it is cold out and need to warm up. I think i will have a swiss miss.

It might be possible to try this with soya milk...

This is an okay recipe for level 2, but Swiss miss makes diet hot chocolate now, with only 25 calories, 2 grams sugar and 4 grams carbs. You could even have it on level one with a little whipped topping.

I can make this with my almond milk since I am allergic to dairy. Thanks!

Made this with soymilk, and it turned out to be way better than Swiss Miss. Tastes like old-fashioned cocoa.

This was so yummy! Plus now that LA has said unlimited amounts of Splenda even better!

Not Atkins Induction friendly AT ALL! 24 carbs is more than you are supposed to have in an ENTIRE day!

Unlike swiss miss this tastes real and if you need to incorporate milk in your diet, this is a good way to do it.
Wonderful recipe.
