DO N OK's Journal, 22 October 2017

Well I went to gym for my spinn class.came back sweaty and showered and put on my pants and headed to the mall..The pants seemed kinda tight, so I figured I had gained a few #s, Went shopping tried on a few pants, Now I'm into the Slim section pants and extra slim shirts, never been slim anything. I have to special order those shirts with no problem.. As I was changing my clothes, I noticed that the pants I was wearing were not mine, but my son's..I just starting laughing out loud, they were a 32". No wonder so tight. The guy that was in the next stall , said you must have gained weight to, because he could not fit into his normal size either..I had to tell him the story, So he also going to look up fat secret, so now I'm in a 34" waist, at one time I remember a 52" waist..Needless to say, I'm still have the mind set to try on my XXL shirts and large baggy pants..Now I can fit into large and medium shirts..One day I will Automatically just go to the smaller size..My wife has to remind me once in awhile to stay out of the BIG and TALL section..I told her I never felt fat, always a skinny person in there somewhere. My journey goes on and I'm Do N OK !! :-)

Thats a great story. I gonna share it with my husband because I've been trying to get him to join me on my journey, at his own pace of course.

Yep! Bought sleek wool trousers for an off-key song at a thrift store with no changing room, but size 40 = US size 10, so good to go. Get them home, they barely zip, I look like a blimp. Take them off, look at label again. Made in Italy. Italian 40 = US size 4. Nice going spreading the FS, that's Do N OK by your neighbor!

ALso, you make me want to try a spin class again. It's been ...20 years?! Do they all require cycling shoes now?

@ T8U9, You can wear snickers, they have straps for the tennis shoes ..

Good Job Do N OK - I was a 52-54 waist and now I am a 46 but I really want to get into the 30's.

You're well on the way, Perks. G started their journey barely buttoning 54s, is now in baggy 40s and 38s trim. (All that progress despite the stress of dealing with me, so you're way ahead of the game!)

That's absolutely awesome! Tight or not, to "accidentally" fit into your sons pants (a 32 no less!) has to feel great! It's so hard to readjust our thinking isn't it? I've not lost much yet, but I know I need to buy smaller sizes, it's just habit to reach for that much bigger size 😜

Great story !

Good for you that you could even get into your son's size pants, albeit a bit uncomfortable. The idea of feeling that we are a particular size is strange to me. Regardless of size I always feel the same...only noticing it when others notice or when I look at pictures. so happy for your progress.

Snork! That made me laugh, thank you from a very grey, wet and cold Monday morning in Devon! How fantastic though, you must be thrilled. Well done you.
