Hi, I am married, a 63 year old Mom to 3 adults and recently retired. I have been heavy all of my adult life and have hope of changing that statistic. Exercise has never been a big draw, but I surprised my self by sticking to it for about 6 months and then finally started to look forward to it. I had some health challenges that required lots of rest and am now ready to begin again. I look forward to supporting others as they journey toward a more healthful life and also look for support from others here. Yippie. Time to begin! J
So several people have inspired me to choose a mini goal. My husband likes to go out to eat, but I keep saying no because it will be bad for my gaining health goals. However, I did agree to a dinner out when I hit 185 lb. He has been better about not offering the snacks I don't want but do like.
Mini goal 185 Lb Treat = dinner out got to goal on 2/22/14 :)
Mini goal 170 Lb Treat = go to a play
Mini goal 155 Lb Treat = Buy an outfit
Mini goal 140 LB Treat to be determined

My goal divided by quarters + 188, 1st quarter, 172, 2nd quarter, 156 3rd quarter, 140 4th quarter. Then maintain or see if another goal may be set.
For my height, 5'5", I walk about 2000 steps a mile.
BMI was at 33.9 when I started. Obese is anything above 30.0
BMI goals 178 Lb eases me into over weight category.
149 Lb eases me into the Normal category,
131 Lb puts in the mid range of Normal BMI
110 Lb would put me in under weight area. Ha Ha never going to get there again. The only time I hit 108 was during a divorce. But It was fun to buy clothes in a size I will never see again. He He.
