I've read the book, but haven't started the plan yet, so I may be off on this. I currently make a breakfast smoothie that I think will work well with the plan in phase 1. I use lowfat plain yogurt, soy protein powder (the kind with almost no carbs), water, and frozen strawberries (no sugar added). The frozen strawberries blended make it thick and give good strawberry flavor. You could use chocolate flavored protein powder too. I use vanilla.

ATKINS rules state specifically NO diet products as they contain sugar and too high carbs.

This is a fabulous smoothie for phase one of the fat smash diet. I dont think this person intended it for the atkins or the south beach diet when she/he submitted this recipe.

Always better to substitute skim milk, sugar substitute and plain yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese and low-fat ricotta cheese in these kinds of recipes. Use sugar-free jelly and sugar-free toppings, or sugar-free Hershey's syrup to satisfy your sweet tooth.
