Thought I'd update my bio. I'm 55, mother of 3 and grandmother of 8 . I work full time from home. I have a darling husband who is dieting with me. I have cats and dogs. I had lost some weight, but had several health issues I gained it back. I also used to have no energy, suffered from extreme exhaustion and weakness of my muscles. I worked, then came straight home to bed.
I also have had sleep apnea and use a cpap machine but my last test told me I don't have enough problem for sleep apnea, yet I can't sleep without the machine. I also have an ileostomy and IBD, I got ulcerative colitis at 16 and within three years almost died. I got the standard ileo at 19 and a BCIR in 98 that failed until last year when I finally got it fixed. My food goes through me quickly and sometimes doesn't digest. I have to watch what I eat, can't eat raw veggies or too much fiber. Used to be only starches made my gut feel good but it also caused me to gain weight. I also am a very picky eater and don't like most food.
I've been doing low carb/high fat for a couple months, I feel great, my digestive track is handling it well, I'm losing weight and my blood sugars are down. We should exercise more, however we live in the country and our gym is quite a drive away. Going into town is an entire evening affair, so we used go then get fast food (high calorie, high carb) cause we would be home too late to prepare food. (I hate eating after 9 pm) We live in a 16 foot by 34 foot home with no room for equipment. Our roads and ground here are too rough to walk(twisted my ankles many times on the ruts and rocks). But in spite of it all I'm down 15 pounds in two months and hubby even more. With God all things are possible.
