I am a 60 year old woman with the hope of reducing my weight for my health and to meet my fitness goals of increasing muscle and losing body fat. Up until I was about 45 years old, I exercised regularly and watched all my food choices. In fact, when I was 40 years old, I was in the best condition. This was an accomplishment since I had been an overweight kid, and battled weight off and on for most of my adult life.

Then, menopause hit and I started a more sedentary job...and I also have hypothyroid! I just slowed down and didn't seem to care anymore about my health.

I have done organized programs at the gym, and food programs. I tend to do well for a while until I hit the dreaded plateau...and then I am discouraged and give up. I WILL NOT give up this time.

A bit frustrated
I agree with you this is not what the FS community is about - that is my exact point! Where is the supportive comments and open-minded ideas when someone disagrees with our poster?

I am sorry to again comment @ Carol - but that tells me you might feel it is acceptable for others to be made fun of because of their beliefs and chosen weight loss methods. We all should be able to post our ideas without ridicule - but if I first am attacked, I will respond.

I was made fun of because of my earlier post about Gary Taubes and his book - and several other people also were told they were just wrong about their ideas.

This is what I commented on - about how patronizing and unwillingness to listen to other viewpoints in not helpful.
I am not challenging his beliefs or ideas - it is the way it is done that bothers me.

Virgin Coconut Oil
I agree - I make Bulletproof Coffee every day and love it. Blended in a mixer, I use one tbsp grassfed butter, one tbsp coconut oil, pour hot coffee over it to melt, add creamer or sweetener to your own taste, and then blend it to a frothy yumminess!

I am not insulting you, and never have insulted anyone here. I have responded to your insults of me. Everyone can easily go back and read this thread. You first insulted me - and I replied. Simple.

In my last post, I simply asked you if everyone is so "Misinformed", why do you bother? And your last reply reinforces my previous diagnosis.

Again, you have your beliefs and other people have theirs. Because you are patronizing and insisting you are better informed by saying you are helping the "Misinformed", you are a Narcissist. You prove it with your own behavior.
