I am a 52 yr old mother of 2 adult children. I work full time and love spending time with my family. I don't have a lot to loose but have gained 20 -25 pounds over the last 10 or so years and really want to get back to where I was in my 30's. I have about 12 more pounds to loose now but am having a hard time staying away from sweets. I have always been an active person and have been exercising most of my adult life. Hope this is the year I can drop a few pounds!

"Brain over Binge" by Kathryn Hansen
I would love to get rid of the belly bloat. I'll have to do some research on other sources of calcium. My doctor said to get more calcium but really didn't give me diet guidelines. I'll have to find some good recipes so the rest of the family will eat it too. Unfortunately my family loves everything cheese so it will take some good recipes to get away from that. Thanks for the tips, off to find some recipes!

I thought that cheese was a good protein and a good source of calcium. I don't drink milk and really don't eat yogurt so cheese is my only source of calcium. Should I be cutting out the cheese and replacing it with yogurt??

Adding Protein to Oatmeal
I started eating oatmeal when it started getting cold in November and was surprised to see that I started loosing weight. I had been stuck at the same weight for so long I couldn't believe it. Around Christmas I started snacking on nuts instead of granola. Even though the calories are higher I lost another pound! I'm nut sure if it was the oatmeal and nuts or because I started logging everything on this website that has been so helpful but it can't hurt to try it and see what happens. Gook Luck

I had an issue trying to log my weight in also. My weight dropped 1 pound and when I put it in, the screen said "your weight dropped 7lbs in one week are you sure you want to record this?" I told it yes and it put the right weight in so I'm not sure why it thought I dropped 7 lbs.

I agree, I love the good stories and the dog story brought tears to my eyes. I think there is a lot more good in this world than the news would have us believe.
