Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken

A wonderful fix and forget recipe.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Rub oregano, and black pepper over chicken and melt butter in a skillet.
  2. Brown chicken about 3 minutes then place in the crock pot.
  3. In the same skillet bring lemon juice, water, and chicken bouillon to a boil then pour over the chicken in the crock pot.
  4. Set crock pot on high and cook for 3 hours or low for 6 hours.
  5. Before serving add parsley. Serve with pasta or brown rice.

Good for all phases of Atkins. Go ahead and use chicken breasts with the skins too!

This was a great dinner recipe. We had it with Lipton chicken flavored rice. Great meal, thanks for the recipe!

I added a chopped onion and thickened the sauce with a teaspoon of cornflour and half a teaspoon of turmeric powder which gave it a nice lemony colour. I served with Basmati rice with the grated zest from the lemon and a pinch of coriander, and a stir fry of shredded cabbage, spinach, sorrel leaves and sliced leeks.

I think mine cooked too long, so beware. I changed it to Oranges as I am not partial to lemons. That too might have dulled the taste. Mine was dry....:( I will try again

Ummm . . . am I just missing it - where does the garlic come in? Add it to the lemon juice/water/bouillion mixture?

Not good for industion if you serve with pasta or rice but would be great with some wilted spinach
