Hello,

Well I am updating this profile, cause I am still fighting the good fight, trying to figure out how to get to a weight that I am happy, do the things I want and generally live with for the long haul.

After working through back injury, menopause, and general disgust, I am back on a program hoping to get a large amount of weight off for the umteenth time.

If someone had told me in my 20's that this would be a life long fight, I would have called them a liar. I am active, I don't eat whole cakes in a single sitting, and don't generally drown my emotions in food. What I do have is a body that does not process carbs as efficently as some others. Sucky acceptance.

I am setting out to do a high protein, very strict and very challenging diet. Stay tuned.

I am still very grateful for all the tools this site provides.

Stay tuned.

Activity Level - Clear examples?
I think each individual has to do what they like or what they can maintain to sustain activity. You can work your butt off, but if your body is still in storing mode....your either eating too much, wrong thing, or not moving enough. I know plenty of "active" overweight people. Also you gotta get that heart rate up and keep it there for a while to consider it cardio.

Most of us do overestimate calories burned. I use a body bug and it is shocking how little you burn, given how much you think you are doing.

Exercise is good for you regardless of how much you weigh....do it for life, at the gym, garden, home or where ever...and not just until you hit goal....

Walden Farms Foods
thanks everyone...I tried to find the base for their products, as I am not a big fan of chemicals either....could not find it anywhere. I think most of the products are way too sweet, but I will most likely use the dressing once in a while. My stomach can't take anymore vinegar. No yogurt on the diet I am on....but will save the tip for later. :>Wink

Walden Farms Foods
Have any of you tried the Walden Foods? No Calorie, No Carb, No NOTHING......

I like the Sesame Ginger salad dressing alot. Some of the others are sketchy....I also like the Chocolate syrup, they also have a peanutbutter substitute...

Albertsons carrys most of the these but if you don't live in the west, you can order them on line...that is what I did.

The Issue of a Single M&M
just subtract the .148 from the total calories and divide by 4, you will get your total number of carbs.
