Hello,

I live in a small rural town in Idaho. It is a great place to live and a tough place to eat right :>). The stores here leave a lot to be desired in the way of fresh quality produce and good low fat alternatives. I find that I cannot utilize a lot of the recipies that are posted cause I have a hard time getting the ingredients, but not to whine...I am trying to overcome.

I work for the Forest Service and like a lot of people had a very active outdoor job for a long time and have now settled (literally) into a more sedentary situation. I sit in front of a computer most of the day.

I am married to the best white water rafter in the world and that is what we love to do. I have been on every major white water river in the US.

I love to travel and being overweight makes that difficult. I have exercised on a regular basis since my early 20's but as I have aged and changed job activity, I have not managed my food. I still eat like a wilderness ranger on an 8 day hitch.

I am a social extremist. I wish everyone I knew would come live with me, so we could party all time. I am the group party host and it is where I do a lot of my unplanned eating. I need to learn to manage this activity so that it does not revolve around food..or at least high calorie food.

I have no children and still spend a ton of free time outdoors. If your like me...drop me a note!

MOTIVATION
I have to really work to stay in the "zone" as I have to exercise at 5:00 in order to get to work on time. I know I won't exercise after work, so that leaves very little room for me to wiggle... I get to the gym 5 days a week and do one session on the weekend. My biggest motivation has been doing this with my friend. It is harder to blow off it you know someone is waiting for you at the gym. I picked someone who I knew would be as solid as I wanted to be and show up regularly. Look for someone you can share the exercise with, but know in the end it is all you and ya just gotta do it!!!

You know I figure the thing that kills me most of the time is all the little mindless snacking I do, so as anal as it sounds, I am literally trying to TRACK it down and record. I love your post jchickos, I had tons of friends who did wild experiments like that!!!

Then there are the hardcores who just take the lid off and pour a handful...
