performance: losing 2.0 lb a week
Married 19 years. Have had weight loss and gain since I was 20. First real diet I tried was after my hubby had proposed. I didn't want to be a fat bride, and I was about 200. In a year, I had dropped 50-60 lbs by switching from Dr. Pepper to water, and walking 25 minutes five times a week. At 20 weight loss was easier.
About age 30 I Had gained it all back. So this time I tried Atkins. I was again 200lbs before realizing that I had to do something. I feel bloated and uncomfortable at 200. Like my fat is strangling me. Anyway I stayed on it for 7 months, losing 70lbs.
Now here I am again, another decade later, approaching 40 weighing almost 200 yet again. Having back surgery, eating badly, and a desk job took their toll. Time for the third ride on the merry-go-round.
I have tried low fat/low cal diets with exercise, but I just don't lose weight. Atkins really has been the only diet that has ever worked for me. You're not supposed to treat it like a diet, but I love bread, so giving it up forever is not an option. However once I'm down to my goal weight I will have bread again, just whole grain and not daily.
