I don't diet, I eat to achive my goals. Right now I am in the process of adding mass by eating 2800 calories or more and working out 3 times a week.
My name is Brent. I am 42 years old and live in central Texas. I found out in 2013 that I am pre-diabetic. My doctor told me to cut the carbs and sugar and I didn’t hesitate to listen. So here I am, as of September 20th 2013, living a controlled carb lifestyle and tracking everything I eat here on fatsecret. I dont eat sugar, wheat, corn, fruit and most grains.
Before I eat something I ask myself a simple question. "Am I about to eat nutritious real food, or is this something that is "food-like" which I just want to eat because it tastes good?" Food invetions is what I like to call them. If I can’t honestly answer the question with "nutritious real food", then I don’t eat it! These processed "food-like" substances are simply short term enjoyment which our mouth loves, but our health ends up paying the price for.
As of October 5th 2013 I am completely off my prescriptions of prilosec, metoprolol and simvastatin. My blood sugar is now under control. It’s usually around 100 when fasting now a days. My blood pressure is averages around 110/70.
