Good Morning!!It's Friday, holy guacamole I've made it! It's a good day too, as the scale has cooperated with my efforts. I am having an issue typing this journal though. FS doesn't seem to want to register what I type at random times. Ugh, frustrating. I checked And it’s not the keyboard. I am now typing on Word, much better. I’ll copy and paste. Whew, I am one smart cookie.

So, operation increase calorie intake seems to be paying off. Almost two pounds down this past week, which is right on par with where I should be. According to my calculations (see how sciency I am) my average daily intake over the last seven days was 1636/day with an average daily burn of 2718. Botta-bing botta-boom, two pound per week loss. Because this is working, I’m going to label my body media armband very accurate and never second guess it again. Of course there could be water fluctuations and whatnot affecting it, so I will just keep on this path and see where it takes me.

**NOTE to any new followers, or people new to fatsecret, all of these insane calculations are unnecessary. I’m just implementing new things that I’ve learned throughout my journey. If you are feeling overwhelmed, DON’T. I lost eighty pounds without any of this mumbo jumbo. Questions? Feel free to send me a message any time. I don’t want anyone just starting to read this journal, throw their hands in the air and say F this, I’m out. You can do this too!

So I’m taking a day off from the gym as I’ve made lunch plans with a good friend of mine that I haven’t seen in a while. She was a former gym buddy (I’ve been through a few of them) and since she stopped coming to the gym I really haven’t seen her. She hasn’t invited me around and I think she feels ashamed. I invited her out to lunch with me to show her know that I’m still her friend even if she doesn’t want to work out. We’ve been friends for like eight years now (I feel like I’m too young to have known someone that long…) so she should know that, but I guess I’ll break the ice by giving up a gym day to see her. I will go to the gym tomorrow instead. Oh, and yes she is the friend that is sour about my success. She often sells my loss short, but I forgive her. I would hate me too. *wink* (she doesn’t actually hate me)


So today is March 21st, the day I was shooting to hit my one hundred pound loss by. Crapola, I knew I shouldn’t have put a time frame on my goals lol. Looks like the only one I’m going to hit is partying like a rock star on my birthday, now that I CAN handle! I’m going to take the dates off of my goals on my profile, and just fill them in as I accomplish them. Lesson learned.

I better get to filling in my food diary before I run out of time. Still have to bathe a preschooler and get dressed. Busy busy! I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!

Those are awesome numbers, and the geekiness is wonderful to see! Congratulations on a terrific job losing the weight. As far as goals are concerned it is not bad to set them and reach for them as long as you never give up on them. If you miss the goal by a week or a month doesn't matter as long as you keep going and get there. Remember to enjoy the ride while taking it.

Wonderful journal kiddo - and you're kind to put the 'notes' in there - everyone new wants it all now, over night, etc, and being new here the FS scale bot will offer the most irrational calculations that range from amusing to irritating. It's like some random macro designed by Joan Rivers or something; should come with it's own rim shot of 'ba-dump-zing' or something. You'll get there, one day, one hour at a time. A step forward ... to infinity and beyond ... sorry, I'm a little foggy today - pain meds LOL.

I am so proud. You are so sciency! *tear in my eye* I find the extra tracking just helps me see the big picture. FS has that radical multiplier for the week. When you posted your 1.8 loss you get the "BE CAREFUL. YOU'RE LOSING 12 POUNDS A WEEK!!!" warning. It's a great site. It would be far more helpful if it could calculate your last 7 days and say, "Over the past 7 days you have lost on average ..." That' I'd love. As to FS losing posts. It doesn't seem to actually do that. It just says there was an unexpected error but it has actually posted what you've written. I just copy what I've written before I post, post it, get the error, then just select 'me' from the journals you want to display to make sure it's there. I've never actually had it lose my post.

I understand the value of setting a date/ time for reaching your goals, but I think it's good to have that as a baseline rather than a rigid standard. Congrats on your progress! Eighty pounds is about 2 kindergarteners, that is a VERY impressive weight loss. I agree with others who mentioned discontent about the FS weight loss calculation algorithm. I see how they did it and that way is very simplistic, but I feel like it shouldn't be that much harder to set it up the way NM suggested or average the last three weight entries or so to give a more accurate trend instead of the current statistic.

Hope your lunch date went well. Reading your food for the day you're proving that you don't have to miss out on anything to lose weight, just watch your portions and do some exercise. You're an inspiration! Have a great weekend :-)
