May 8, 2013 - Time to update the bio. I'm 40 years old and have been on FS for one year now. In that time I've lost over 25lbs! I love FS as it totally works for me. I keep track of the calories that I consume daily and try to do some kind of activity everyday.
May 8, 2012 - I'm a 39 year old Christian, working, married mom of a 2 year old from Ontario, Canada. I work in the Regulatory Department of a food company where I am attached to my chair and computer! My DH also works for a food company as a mechanic. So we are surrounded by processed food! We've been married for over 10 years now. My parents own a dairy farm and we help out whenever we can. My son loves the tractors and cows. Unfortunately, my parents are approaching their late 70s and need to retire but my dad can't let go. But at the same time, I don't want him to give up the farm either. So, we spend some late nights there where I end up eating late and not exercising.
Last fall my co-worker joined weight watchers and lost 20 lbs in 6 months. I tried to learn from her but it didn't matter what I did, the weight remained the same.
I found FatSecret through an app on my phone and thought this may help! And it is by making me accountable for what I put in my mouth! I want to stay around 1500 calories per day and I'm trying! As well, I'm trying to incorporate more exercise. My co-worker and I try to go for a walk everyday at lunch and we walk about 2 km. And when I get home I try to get a few more exercises in while playing with my son.
Whatever I can do to make the weight go down, even if it is only 2 pounds per month. Over the course of a year that's more than 20 lbs! Slow and steady wins the race!
I would love to hear your stories, successes and failures and together we'll go through this journey together!
