so something awesome happened yesterday, or awesome to me anyway. I was at the gym last night racking my weights and a young man got my attention and said "hey did you just start out ?" I was like "no I've been here for like 1.5 years" and he was like "no you were gone for 2 weeks " I was like (stalker)"how do you know" He was like "I see you here all the time and then you were out for like a week or two. I've been watching your progress". Then I was like,"oh I was on vacay but I'm back" He then replied "Don't stop working out on vacay. Your doing great and your progress really shows. I like seeing people like you here at the gym" ... yada yada I don't remember the rest bc I was on cloud nine.. handsome built guy blah blah blah blah... hahahaha anyways, felt good to be noticed and to make my 1st friend at the gym since 2014. I've never wanted to make friends bc that's not what I'm there for but its nice to know someone's name. And it feels great to work out in the section of the gym where the "guys" work out hehe. Then after that like two other ladies spoke to me to and made conversation. It felt good to be noticed and renewed my love of the gym even more. And of course I ran home to tell DH and he was like "wow bae, that's awesome!".. any way rant over
Pulled out the keto strips and there are traces of ketones which is great in my book and the scale is tipping in the right direction, water weight I'm sure but Ill take it. Pushing thru.. today is "officially" day 3 on staying on track.. Let do this!

I was like you when I first started going to the gym--get in, do my thing, leave. I occasionally talked to the trainers, but there was rarely more than a nod or a smile to the other folks sweating in there. I am not sure when it changed, but I started to talk to the other folks there, familiar faces from the previous months. I still focus on the work while I am there, but I agree that it is nice to add in a little conversation. How cool is it that there are folks you don't even realize that are marking your success and cheering you on! :)

I've got the same going on myself with the hotties. Keep sharing the guys' comments with your husband - jealousy motivates them to lose weight, too. Or at least to join you at the gym.

I'll bet those comments at the gym did make you feel good, that is great. Nothing wrong with having admirers noticing what you're doing.

and you thought no one was paying attention !! just thought you were sneaking in and out LOL,, haha way to start off the year,, never hurts to have a little ego boost,, maybe just what you needed to get back in the groove huh !! I am usually the only female out on the floor lifting weights too . I prefer ST over cardio any day !!!

That is fantastic. People pay attention. It's a great feeling. Hope it happens more often for you.

Thanks for sharing your happy moment -- reading about it gave me a vicarious boost of positive energy that was much needed heading into the end-of-the-week stretch.

THAT is a great thing! I "know" people at my gym because I workout in the structure of a class - not friends but fellow gym rats. It helps. There are times people change up their schedule and then see me again after a few weeks and are surprised, too. It is a good reinforcement to know YOU are doing well and making progress. Congrats!..And, I agree with Tamarah - strength training is better than cardio in the end.
