Bible Cake

A deliciously sweet cake with almonds, figs and raisins.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.
  2. Sift salt, flour, baking powder, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice).
  3. Mix honey with water and add alternately to first mixture with dry ingredients.
  4. Add raisins, figs, and nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan or angel cake pan.
  5. Bake at 375 °F (180 °C) until it tests done (about 1 or 1 1/2 hours).
