So if your reading about me....
I am in my early 50s, have 4 kids, 3 grandbabies, 3 cats (and one foster cat), 2 dogs, and 4 rats. I work in IT in applications support, mostly databases. Quit smoking a few years back and gained the customary 20LBs. Change of life (you ladies know what I mean) meant not losing those pounds. A long commute and ever increasing deskwork have added a few more to that total. Husband is obese and that doesn't help me either. From 140ish about 6 years ago to a top weight of 180, I needed to get a grip on my weight gain before I started to see severe health problems. I joined FatSecret in August 2009 (after finding the app) shortly before my physical. Since joining here, I have lost around 30LBs. I used the Spike Diet and encourage calorie counters to give it a read.
So a brief update. Most of what is up there is true...I had met my goal and kept the weight at bay for about 2 years. I took a job where the husband was responsible for cooking, and that failed miserably. He would bring home food more often than not. I gained 25lbs in one year. I have a lot to lose to look good for my vow renewal (3oth Anniversary) in the Bahamas next June.
