I'm a 38 year-old mom of 2. My daughter is 14, and my son is 5. I have been married for 6 years. My diet of choice when I began here at FatSecret was Atkins, and I am a firm believer in that lifestyle. I lost 15 pounds right away through 3 solid weeks of Induction. However, due to some issues I have, my doctor and I decided the Simply Filling plan through Weight Watchers is more what my body needs. I followed it in the past when it was known as "Core", and I was very successful. I feel better and am having equally successful weight loss through this plan. Plus, it's much easier to follow when cooking for my family, and I'm already saving money on groceries.

I received a Lap-Band way back in 2008, which has done nothing to help with my weight loss efforts. In fact, after surgery, things became harder than ever for me. I developed Vascular Reflux in my legs. They are painful to touch, and I experience frequent periods of severe edema in my legs with pitting. My surgeon no longer performs lap-band surgeries on his patients because he is no longer a believer due to the overwhelming lack of success and increasing problems with lap-band patients. Instead of having it taken out, I reduced my restriction by having saline removed, and decided to power-through my weight loss with hardcore focus and determination. So far...so good. :)

Miracle Noodle (Now you can eat Pasta w/o Worrying about Net Carbs!!!)
I'm not nearly as thrilled about the Miracle Noodles as I am about the BREAD I'm ordering through Julian Bakery. Holy moly. Induction-friendly 0-2 NetCarb breads depending on which kind you choose. I have heard raves about this, and I'll be trying the breads first before moving on to their cookies.

weight loss surgery
I had a Lap-Band surgery in January of 2008. I was 298 pounds. The first year I lost 25 pounds. *blink* Through the band being too tight, then not tight enough, then it slipped cuz it was filled too tight again, then unfilled to fix the slip where I gained back 15 of those 25...and over the next 4 years it has been hell. I developed Vascular Reflux in my legs, my band works for "restriction" only when it wants to, when food gets stuck it hurts like heck (daily basis no matter how much I chew). Now I've reduced my restriction again (had more fluid removed to loosen the band), and I'm wanting to forget I ever had the dumb thing placed inside of me in the first place. I work harder at this weight loss than anybody I know, and the weight is finally slowly creeping off. In fact I have to work harder at it now than before I ever had WLS. I'm finally ignoring my band, and got it to a comfortable restriction level in order to be successful and eat meat again, which is great for being on Atkins. So, in summary, since Lap-Band surgery in 2008, I've lost 33 pounds, it has nothing to do with my "tool" of a band, and it's mostly been in the last 4 weeks. LMAO...what a joke. I should have chosen the RNY, but a doctor talked me out of it. He really wanted me to have the band. I hate him...and he doesn't perform lap-band surgeries anymore because he no longer believes in them due to huge LACK of success and multitude of reversals due to medical necessity.

Cleaning up friend's list
And your advice at the bottom of your last post? I'm thinking you may want to check yourself before you offer up such "wise" advice to others.
