I am here to become accountable to myself and to learn from others.

Like many, my life's movie would be titled "Weight On, Weight Off, Weight On, Weight Off". This time I waited far too long to start the "Off" part.

There were delightful longish periods of what I called normalcy that had more to do with a mind set of putting myself first, in a good way, rather than obsessing about what I put in my mouth or the actual time spent on the running trails. Self esteem and self care were fleeting. That's the real work for me. I've lost much weight and can do so again although it gets harder each time doesn't it?

58 and happily single. Two grown children who I would love to know and be around even if they were not my spawn.

Moved 6 times in last 7 years by choice and the type of work. Currently looking for a job and researching a new degree.

Top ten mistakes women make in the gym!
A question, but first thank you. All of this info, tk, is exactly what I learned from a trainer I was lucky enough to meet, who took me to a "gym" that was also an NFL rehab location. Intimidating! but I never looked better on her simple methods, even though I was 50 years old (8 years ago). Is it still a good idea to do a light cardio warm up (10 min), then do your training, and THEN, finish up with light to mod cardio for 30-40 minutes. I personally did all my cardio on off strength days. I see so many people killing themselves on the treadmill for an hour and then heading over to the weights. thx for the post - it made be excited to get back.
