I'm a nearing 60 single woman who's finally decided to take control of my weight. I've always been heavy -- but when I was younger, I would go through periods of rigid and successful dieting and get my weight down. But now I'm low thyroid with some orthopedic problems, and it's caused me to gain more weight than ever before -- with the expected cholesterol and blood pressure issues.
I've been on a low glycemic diet since I joined FS in July 2010 -- long enough that it's become a routine. I've lost more than 50 pounds, and the scale continues on a downward trend, albeit slowly. I feel great and look great -- lots of compliments on my weight loss. Now it's time to set some goals...

When I'm not counting calories on Fat Secret, I'm a marketing/communications specialist working with not-for-profit organizations. I'm an enthusiastic gardener and theater goer, and the love of my life is a 5-year-old Sheltie. I have a good life -- and I'd like it to be a thin life.
