I am a 50 year old mom of a grown child. I lead a fairly active lifestyle (karate, scuba diving, travel). I started gaining weight when I moved to Louisiana( the food here is unbelievable!) I quit smoking 5 years ago and packed on another 30 lbs. My highest weight was 180, I managed to get down to 170 before I found FS. I had a flat stomach 10 years ago and I want it back!
January 2012: I made it to within 5 lbs of my goal in August 2010, but I got sidetracked along the way. My father died that August and I did some pretty unhealthy emotional eating as well as injuring my knee in december 2010 which caused a drastic reduction in my exercise schedule, add to that some holidays with lots of poor eating habits and I am right back where I started.
June 2013: Finally am getting back on track with eating better and exercising more. I got braces in april and that made me change how I eat drastically, since I was revamping how I ate I figured it would be a good time to try to eliminate sme of the foods that were not so good for me- Let's see if I can get to that 150
October 2015: I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in May of 2015 and started chemotherapy in June 2015- I will complete my chemo treatment on dec 14 and then move to maintenance once I finish initial treatment- I have gained about 30 lbs since starting chemo. Because I am doing chemotherapy I have to be very careful when losing weight and a lot of it with go away when I get of decadron (a steroid).
