I am 53 yrs old and have just started on the Atkins Diet, per my Doc's suggestion.
I have about 30 pounds to lose.

Interests and hobbys: photography, photoshop, photo manipulations, digital painting, scrapbooking, reading, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, hiking ... Eating and sleeping. Lol. The list is endless.... I'm never bored.

Weight went back up!!!!!
I'm totally understanding what you are saying... this has been a thought I've been struggling with as well. I have been taught for so many years that Weight Watchers is the healthiest 'diet' out there; and I think it is. That's why I was taken by SUCH surprise when my DOCTOR suggest I go on the Atkins diet --- to lose weight quickly and lower my triglycerides. I was almost disappointed in her! But, I bought the book that day and started the diet the next... lost about 10 lbs right away; about a pound a day and now here I am ... stalled .. or something. I even considered counting points again but just limit myself to breads and pastas, etc.

LSW, I look fwd to browsing through the site and seeing what all is here! Smile LightBlue, I hear you! My metabolism has stopped since I hit about 40; worse now that I'm 53. But I'm gonna give it my best. Down another lb today. So, down about 4 lbs in 3 days, not bad!

Newbie Here and to Atkins
I just wanted to introduced myself, my name is actually Shari. Nice to be here; this site seems to have a lot to offer.
I've just started the Atkins diet, so I'm at the "Induction Phase". I've just completed my 2nd day, successfully, I might add. I think I'm going to like this plan; my first day, I've dropped 2.4 lbs. I like that! Wink

Strange. A 2 lb drop from yesterday, and all I did was up my calories and cut out crystal light 100% and drank water all day. I think I'll do it again ...
