PROFANITY! <--- Replace this with your worse curse word

Yep. That's how I feel. The scale wants to punish me with a higher number despite making the necessary dietary changes.

No alcohol, less than 20 grams of carbs, sub 800 calories, over 64 oz of water.

Coach Ches - The poster boy for Insulin Resistance.

I will not quit. 18 days to the new year.

Where is this magical whooosh? I should just just stop typing right now and head over to Dunk's and get 2 glazed donuts and wash it down with chocolate milk and throw in the towel. Frigging homeostasis!

What's the point?

I'll be back. Heading to the cooler to fill up the bottle with 22 oz of "please help me, I am so close" water

I need some sun, a hug, a kick or pinch on the but. I dunno.

Onwards!!

I got a question - Are you feeling you eating more or less calories in general every day? If you eat too little, the body can go into survival mode and shut down body burning excess fat for example to save your life in emergencies- I have had the same happen in weight loss personally - just a thought - anyone else ? You definitely have the willpower and everything happens from there - I am here watching your journey knowing you will get there -

Sounds like your body is trying to let you know you need more calories. As Johnwentzville said in the comment above. I am making sure to get LOTS of real food/quality calories into my hubs each day, and almost no carbs, and keeping his protein under 65g to ensure that he continue his weigh loss :) Healing blessings on your journey!

John, I agree. As a teen, my daughter tried to lose weight by starving herself. All it did was to cause her to faint on the mat. When I forced her to eat more calories, she lost weight.

Thanks all. I've been leveraging lowered calories this week due to many meetings where I am stuck in a chair for hrs (by back is really sore from this). These meetings have also prevented me from daily walks and missing out on an easy 4 - 6K steps during these walks. I've bumped up my calories by adding in my dinner from last night into today's plan for when I get home. My carbs will still be under 20 grams which I know will help. I also know that this scale # is temporary and I will find my way with all these helpful tips. I will keep my eye on goal, hold on tight to the ball and run, run, run. I will follow up tomorrow. Thanks again.

It effing sucks when you gain, but hang in there. Slow and steady wins the race. When you stumble over a rock while running you don't give up; you get your balance together and press on. You are doing great.

Keep up what you're doing with the 800, don't up intake. any missing calories your body needs will have to use fat, that's what it's on your body for in the first place. It's all numbers and science, if you starve yourself, you will lose weight, it's not exactly the right way to do it but all diets are a form of gentle starvation if you think about it. You can't gain muscle and lose weight at the same time, it's impossible. weight fluctuates for about a billion different reasons everyday, just stick to what your doing and take people's advice with a grain of salt.

Wish it were true that the body will have to use fat. Not the way it works, unfortunately :/

Are you building muscle with any workouts?

Johnwentzville is on to something, long story short..talking to trainer's about the fat losing process they all agree that you have to make the brain feel that it's body is getting fed regularly and it's comfortable with before it sends the signal to start releasing the fat.other wise it will go into survival mode and start storing fat.....the old saying Rome wasn't built in a day, you'll get there just don't drive yourself crazy along the way.I hope some of this info helps you.
