Janelleas's Journal, 21 October 2008

I passed on the most delicious dessert tray at lunch today! All because I knew the Golden Sunset Seeker’s were right there watching me! Hubby took me to my favorite lunch place today and they always have the most unusual and spectacular desserts. I however, said NO!! I am not showing any loss at all this week yet, but I had a 3 lb loss last week and that is really super big for me to accomplish. Im hoping to lose at least one pound per week. I didn’t get to exercise today YET!! Still hope for it later. Running errands and getting things done. I finally replaced my old medic alert bracelet which has been on my “to do list” for over a year. Right now Im feeling very powerful because I passed up that dessert at lunch today AND didn’t have any wine, even though it’s always seemed like the type of atmosphere that entices you to have a glass. Oh well, I need to go put this feeling of power to some usefulness, like getting on the treadmill.

And so you should be feeling "very powerful", it's such a wonderful thing when we can pass on things that we just know we will beat ourselves up for later if we eat and "GREAT JOB" on the 3 lb loss last week!

Ooooh-is that the place with the peanut butter chocolate thingy-or something? Good thing you were not with me as given my present mood I would have derailed us both. Good job! If you get on the treadmill, I will go to the gym-deal?

Great job, Janelle on passing up on that dessert and wine. Use all those powerful feelings, get on that treadmill for a great 'power' workout. Way to go.

Great job on saying "no" to that dessert and wine. You took one for the team. Thanks Janelleas! You are our leader, teaching us how to do it.GO GOLDEN SUNSET SEEKERS

Thanks all, it did feel good saying "no" and I did in fact go get on the treadmill while still feeling the "power of NO". Densible, its so funny that you actually remember that peanut butter/chocolate dessert and YES, it is that place that we went to. If you're ever this way, I'll take you there! They had a cheese cake I had never seen the likes of..a choclate brownie cheesecake, a thick pecan pie and a cranberry, walnut, apple crisp...all sort of wonderful things (those are just the three I remember). It is amazing how powerful I felt after I said NO. I think about how much I would have felt "regret" if I had eaten any of those. Feels good to just say "no"! gug, thats also funny!! I laughed at the "took one for the team" LOL still makes me laugh. Im down one pound today and thats a good week for me, not going to report it till Thursday just incase my weight fluctuates upward again or maybe goes down again. I have two celebrations this week yet, a birthday party at a Mexican restaurant tonight and a Friday football game that is "sort of a party". I plan on being good for those events.. I so much want to keep losing and make it to my goal with no UPS on my chart this time.

Great work on keeping up that will "power" Janelle and passing on the desserts and wine. I think one of the hardest things is to say NO when you're surrounded by so many yummy looking goodies. But you did absolutely fantastic, so just keep with that determination and those scales can only reward you, by dropping further for you. ;o)

Oh bravo, BRAVO!! Very good job on being so strong! Why does it have to be so darn difficult to choose wisely at times? =S Frustrating, to say the least.

You have an iron will young lady! You are the wind beneath my wings! I just read your cruise ship announcement about Greece and Greek food. I am going to have a blast with this challenge! I went out with a Greek boy in high school in 1971! For real! His family was so colorful and communicative -- just like the family on the film "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

It's wonderful to see that your challenge is keeping you so mindful of your choices. Great job!
