Janelleas's Journal, 23 October 2008

one pound gone for this week. I'm happy with that! One pound in a week is good for me. I've had a busy week, lots of temptations, birthday party with cake, nice restaurants with dessert trays placed in front of me and people drinking fancy sugar laden mixed drinks but I was able to focus on my plan. My plan is to reach my goal without any upward swings on my weight chart. I want to reach goal and be on mainteance like information, Imluuvd and others here. I hope to be at goal by my birthday in May of 09... preferrable by the end of march 09 because we are going to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico with friends at that time. I want to have to go buy a new bathing suit because my new one from this year is too big and loose! *Big Grin* That's my happy thought for today anyway.

Good for you for staying strong against temptation!

I am proud of you - Fat Secret Friend! Do you find that you do well with healthy eating - OR - th exercise but sometimes it is so so so tough to do a super dooper job with BOTH? I really have a difficult time striking the right BALANCE. It seems either I do well eating light and slow down on the exercise - OR - I exercise like a fiend and eat a little TOO MUCH -- of the healthy things. Keep up the great work.

Congrats on losing a pound. I think we're both back on track now so let's stay there. We can do this!

Awesome! That's 4 lbs in 2 weeks-the tortoise is overtaking the hare. Crikey, I hope I can report the same result tomorrow.

WOW that's wonderful that you managed to loose a pound with all that temptation. You're doing GREAT!

Yay, wonderful news! You're doing fantastic sticking to plan with all those temptations surrounding you. But it's wonderful to hear your determination and focus... so you just keep sticking with your plan and those lbs will only drop more. 4lbs in two weeks is excellent... so keep up the great work Janelle. ;o)

A pound a week is four pounds a month and definitely positive. You are doing very well Janelle and I think you are just going through a period of refocusing. No need to hurry things up too much because that would set you up for a possible disappointment down the road. Take your time and do it your way.

Bully we already have a resort membership in Cancun and we have "red weeks" so we can trade to go almost anywere in the world we would want to go, but thanks anyway. Cobra Fan, I wish I could pick just one but the truth is that I lose weight best by combining good food choices/diet AND exercise. I have not gone overboard on exercise becuase I just really will NEVER feel like doing an hour of exercise. Instead I tell myself to do at least 30 min for 3-4 days a week. I try to fit in other exercise during my day that really doesn't take much time or effort. When I go into the kitchen I will do 10 sink push-ups. When I go to sit in my chair I will do ten squats (almost sit down and stand back up again) , then I would get on the floor while watching tv and do some leg lifts and exercises. I get on the treadmill in our guest room and watch a movie I recorded while I walk (30 min). Sometimes I have to tell myself I will walk 15 min. if Im not feeling up to it, but end up staying the whole 30 min. The fact is I only lose when I am doing both, but I don't over-do the exercise, I just do it in bits and pieces some times.

Densible, That 3 lbs I lost last week was entirely RARE for me. I had a weight gain prior to that and think some of it was what I call "temporary weigth gain". I just worked hard to make sure it did come off and didn't stick...but Im more than pleased with ANY weight that comes off. I strive for 1/2 a pound weight loss each week and am thrilled with anything over that.

information, I am taking your words to heart. I am not in a hurry at all, I just want to make sure im heading downward again without such a long pit stop as I have had and without gaining. I know weight will fluctuate but my aim is to have a loss each week, even 1/2 pound is fine with me. I only get disappointed when I think I worked so hard to lose weight and end up showing a gain. I get over though :D

I just knew, like information already said...it was about you refocusing. You already know how to do it and you just had to get your head...or heart... back into it. Im so happy to see ya there! Woo hooo! Im still thinking about Puerto Vallerta but with poor ol Nala and not having Tony here to dog sit anymore...we're kindof stuck in place for a bit. We don't mind though, Nalas worth a little love and care right now (she deserves it). Have an AWESOME weekend mom...OH, and Im trying a really neat recipe today, Ill let ya know about it if it turns out good!

Sounds as if you have that BALANCE and MODERATION that I need in my plan. I am still searching for that even keel! No pun intended since we are aborad a ship! HA! My exercise is a little more HARD CORE -- maybe that's why I slack off -- because I over do it. Who knows! Let's continue to do our best -- there is INTEGRITY in that effort. I am proud of all of us and I know you are too.

Way to go! 1 pound a week makes all the difference. Thats how 1 turns into 10, and so on and so forth.
