Jenjabba— I wasn’t suggesting Adef needs therapy, I just wondered if he had ever had it. Severel people here had struggled with eating issues and found it helpful. I have a granddaughter who is extremely obese and we, her family, are trying to help with some type of intervention that might be effective. Therapy as a younger person did not help, but it is being reconsidered as an adult— but at a pretty hefty price tag. Is it worth a second mortgage on their home?. Don’t jump to conclusions jenjabba. This is suppose to be a learning and growing site.

Kenna, if you don't want to be misunderstood, perhaps it would have been better to have posed a question on the therapy topic in your own journal, instead of singling out one person and asking if they've tried therapy. I'm amazed that you can wonder how that might have been taken badly.

Sorry for offending. It was not meant as so. Very sorry Adef.

That's the whole problem , you see what he's doing as an eating issues, and I see it as he's brilliant, you have a lot to learn, if you read his journals you know what he's doing is brilliant biohacking, optimal health and healing,

Kenna get her of carbs, they are the problem with her standard American diet and go listen to all dr berry YouTube videos. Look up dr berry and ADA and watch that one, cutting carbs and all the low fat processed fat cause depression and disorders. I didn't jump to conclusions. You did

@CrashtestDawnie - I was thinking about this conversation and decided to extend my fast to 10 days :) I'm *excited* :)

different things work for different people. I eat at least 4 solid meals a day personally and that is what works for me.
fasting is a weird concept to me, so is this 'keto' but you can't argue with the results people get.
best luck with it mate

Honestly Kenna is not all wrong, we (including me) were not born with the “I’m satisfied button” or else we would never have had weight issues. And yes we do need to workout out “issue” of why we are eating if we are not hungry. Anyways you do ur thing adef...I’m guessing omad is a better lifestyle choice for you?

Looking forward to see if you make your 160 goal in 10 days, Adef. Good luck! :)

@LZenn - Me too! But, I am more excited about how it will feel to have such an extended period of time without solid food. Just electrolyte concentrate, protein drinks, and exercise. Even if I managed to miss my weight goal, I would be like' meh'. The number of days fasted is the only thing I care about.

@rosio19 - When I am not in 'weight loss mode' OMAD is my answer :)

Self Experimenting is the ONLY way. 5 people can eat the identical foods/frequency and have 5 unique responses. You have more control than you give yourself credit. Fasting is the ultimate control and you nail it time and time again. Do you have to constantly fast for those time periods? I think over time you will not have to because it is all in your head and this stems from being overweight most of your life. I get it. You do have fears to overcome as we all do. You do the work, compile and analyze data, and make the necessary adjustments. I can't argue with that because I do the same. I'm in your corner for sure, never forget that!

@chrisw77 - Hahah don't worry I am sticking to IF when 'maintaining weight' and extended fasting when 'losing weight'. I just give myself a few days each week to 'relax' the protocol. This post was about how doing that for more than 2 days doesn't feel so good and can cause serious weight gain :) When I do it for two days or less I am usually fine.

@chesgreen - Because I take in sooo many calories during my 'fast' I don't think they can bee looked at like a 'traditional fast'. It is more just avoiding 'solid food'. I find that my body simply does not NEED solid food. The only thing my body NEEDS is nutrients.

hopefully not an inappropriate question.
I have no doubt you can survive on your diet, your quite fit infact but is it healthy long term on your digestive system? without trying to be gross but would your stools wouldn't be much fun I'm guessing? I'm sure you would need solid food for a solid poop right?

@keith george cooke - All I can say is that I have been 'fasting' (eating no solid food) 5 days a week for months. As far as general health, yesterday I was able to do 30 squats with 140lbs on my shoulders and the day before that I was able to run 5 miles in only 50 minutes. My stool is actually normal because 900 calories a day of protein and fat will produce normal stool :)

@chrisw77 - No heartburn, but I never had that problem anyway.
