I've been trying to loose 40lbs for 2 years now (I'm currently 187lbs). My problem is I can't find anything that is worth sticking with as I love to cook and eat things with different textures and flavors (any suggestions because I feel like I've tried everything)! I hate the idea of depriving ones self of dairies, carbs, and certain meats (our bodies naturally crave those things, right! so we suffer long and hard when we try to take certain things away from ourselves) and it's natural for us to eat those things. What ever happened to adhering to the Food Pyramid?

Anyhooo, I am currently taking up Jazzercise and I'm doing the "Forever Fit" program, which allows me to eat 1600 calories a day (Less than my RDI on here which is 2000). I have been on the program for 2 weeks now (almost 3 as of 3/1/10) and have lost 1 pound (yay). I love this because I can eat what I want, just small portions (I still make health conscious decisions I just don’t feel extremely guilty when I get something that’s not so healthy) and it works out well for me! And I also eat just about 5 times a day but that’s another story.

So Fat Secret is great! Now I have a tool to make tracking my calories much easier! Thanks FatSecret

Please!! Help Me Decide What I Should Do!!!
Okay So I need help trying to decide whether I should cancel my Jazzercise Membership and do Power90x at home.

Jazzercise Pro's:
-there are others in the class to motivate me
-live and up beat (time flies when moving fast)
-can get a conplete body work out including cardio and resistance in 1 hour
-they tell you if you are doing the workout improperly
-they give low impact options
-it works! I've lost 12lbs and 6'inches in 3 months doing this and counting calories

Jazzercise Con's:
-I work a crazy rotating schedule and I can only go on my days off from work
-It cost me (but I don't mind the cost)
-not a morning person and the earliest class I could attend and not have to get up early is 4pm (there are no classes in between the hours of 10:30am and 4pm).
-doesn't focus on 1 method of exercising. Ex: session devoted to nothing but kick boxing
-i feel like we don't do enough upper body work outs: abs, arms, chest, ect

Power90x Pro's:
-I can do it 7 days a week at any time if I'd like.
-its free
-it works, but haven't stuck with it long enough to see result in the past
-it has a video completely devoted to Kenpo and I love kick boxing.
-I can [choose] if i want to focus on one section of my body

Power90x Con's:
-there's no one there to correct me
-it can get lonely working out by myself
-with the way its set up there will be some days where I would not get a total body work out as it focuses on certain body parts weekly
-time goes by slow with the music Tony has playing in the back ground

I could consider doing both.
-Jazzercise on my days off and P90x on the days I have to work. Right now just the thought of doing both for some reason is bothering my spirit (lol)because this is something I don't want to do. But I don't know how I would really feel about that until I try it

I'm trying to become more proactive on this site. I find that coming here and having people to talk to, compare results with, and finding out what is working for others helps me to stay focused and motivated. I need more friends on FatSecret so don't be afraid to be friend me.
