I think this is something like a BMR formula...If your calory intake is about 200 to 300 less than your Base Metebolic Rate you creat a calorie deficit and you loose weight. If your activity is more intence you burn more calories and build youre metabolism...you'll burn more calories with better metabolism. You can find good calculator on fat2fit.com and lots of good information.

Hi Inola
I;m doing fine and recovering quickly and already back to walking everyday. Finally doing some push-ups but no sit-ups yet.My doctor advised light activity till mid feb.
I see you're still tumbling down the blue dot trail, but keep in mind you'll make quality progress by quality food intake.I find that I get more bang for my buck with vegetables, fruit, legumes, and nuts (vegan diet).Fat grams have 9 cal while protien and carbs have only 4 cals.I can eat more and still stay in caloric range, about 1800 per day.I'm still making good progress to a new goal of 185 lbs by whenever (because my diet is not a race but a new lifestyle).I avoid any food with saturated fat (all saturated fat has cholesterol so it can be easily identified)it causes heart disease.Presently I no longer need any medications so my diet works well for me.
My new hobby dieting and cooking. later 1/2Lb
