I am an older retired lady. Dr wants me to lose weight and do more exercise. I have been on Atkins since March 29,2013 and I have lost 50 pounds. It has been good to me and I feel a lot better. I have three grown kids and 4 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. I love to golf and take the g kids to Silver Dollar City. This summer has been fun. My husband and I just celebrated our 50th in April of 2013. I reached my goal weight in October of 2013 and I have been successfully maintaining since then. I love my new look. It is crucial that I keep a close eye on what I consume so i stay here at FatSecret to manage my food intake and get positive reinforcement from other food aholics.

I'm a backslider!
Thank you Phil,and Snowman. that is wonderful encouragement. I plan to do just that. Even though I have been back on the plan for only 2 days, I feel the difference. One thing was my knee felt so much better also.
I was having trouble with it not wanting to straighten out after sleeping in a curled up position all night. This morning I jumped right out of bed without having to do lunges to straighten out the knee. Could the carbs make that much of a difference?

I'm a backslider!
I thought I could do it and I did for a while, but the last couple of weeks I have been eating everything, out of control. Now I need to lose 10 pounds. At least today was a wake up and now I know that carbs are my enemy. I felt so much better when I was sticking to low carb, I had more energy and more determination. Now I am convinced this is what I must do to remain at goal. PLEASE give me all the encouragement you can muster, I need it.

Bloated all the time
Atkins is a great plan if you give it a chance. After induction, the craving goes away, you just have to have the fortitude to stick it out, I have been a serious carb-o-holic all my life, I gave up bread and potatoes completely while I was losing. It was easier than trying to just eat a little. You can do this. If I can do it anyone can.

I purchased a bag of soy flour. I thought I could use it for breading chicken tenders. Is it useful for any other low carb recipes?
