I live in Michigan on a farm by a lake so summer outside activities are plentiful. I have a little Veggie stand that I sell veggies and goods from in the summer. Between gardening, swimming and running around with the kids there is always plenty to do.
Early on, I wanted to be a phs ed teacher, I dropped out of college and had a career in restaurant mgmt instead. I went through a divorce, worked tons of hours, ate poorly with little excerise. I no longer work the stressful life that restaurant mgmt requires, and haven't done so for over 10 years. But the weight remained and even increased, I was at my heaviest in 2003. Diagnosed with the start of diabetes, high blood pressure, and high colesterol. Dieting and a little excerise got some of the weight off, but I eventually quit. I gained back half of the weight I lost.
Then, I seriously started dieting on Oct 21 2009. I joined a local health club and started working out and watching what I ate. Within a week I started feeling better. I took it farther and started writing down what I ate and staying under 1200 calories. I have a daily workout routine that I do each morning when the club opens, I work out 45 minutes then I scramble like heck to shower and get to work. Before joining My Fat Secret I lost 38 lbs. My short term goals are be under 200 by June 21st, learn how to Kayak this summer,and by next winter I will return to my love of Snow Skiing. I haven't skied since the late 80's.
I'm 56, this is my last chance to get the weight off and return to a healthy lifestyle before I turn 60.
I can cross Kayaking off my short term goal list, I purchased one the middle of May. I love it, just another way to stay active and move it.

cheat day?

No cheat day here. The clocks a tickin and I have no time to waste. I keep lookin at the big picture. I sometimes eat something that is not as good for me, like a Wendy's chicken sand. But I find ways to remove some of the calories like no mayo and I don't eat the top bun, then I just order a diet drink nooo fries. I'm a salt craver nots sweets, so popcorn is my vice and if I over indulge in the popcorn I count the calories. Hope this helps somehow......
