I am 33 years old and a Mother of 3 girls (8, 4 & 3). If someone asked me what my ideal weight is, I could never look back at my life and pick a specific time period (i.e. high school, college, wedding...). I have NEVER been an ideal weight.

However, I went to a my cousins wedding in the summer of 2009 and when I saw a picture of myself a switch turned on in my brain and I said...I don't want to see myself or feel like this ever again. I had a few ups and downs, but in January 2010 I finally comitted to my gym mmebership. I am currently 50lbs lighter (with 40 more to go). A friend from my TEAM Weight Loss class told me about FatSecret and so far I LOVE it! So easy to journal my foods which is such an eye opener!

I am motivated for the next half of my weight loss journery and I am glad I have this new community to keep me inspired!

Great Articles!
You should check out the rest of their site...I can honestly say it isn't like any other magazine out there! They never try to hit you with a "quick fix" it is very organic, holistic "mind, body and spirit" approach to being healthy!

We have all read something inspiring, eye opening or even mind boggling so I thought we should have a thread that would make it easier to share articles we have found!!!

Hope you find it useful Smile

The fat version of an eating disorder
I was in a very similar state of mind that you find yourself in now. the best advice I have is to summon up the courage to talk openly and honestly with your family physician. Mine was incredibly helpful! She helped me approach my weight loss in a healthy and manageable way.

hang in there you will do great!
