I kinda have a long bio so bare with me :P

As you can see I’m on fat secret because as everyone else, I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT. I used to tell people I’m overweight but my BMI says different, I’m morbidly obese. I’ve been struggling with my weight for almost 7 years, basically since I was in high school, back then i didn't care about my appearance much, i still don't most of the time, but over and over and over again I’ve been reminded by almost everyone around me that I’m beautiful but I’m going to be more beautiful if i lost the weight. for me that talk was only to encourage me to lose weight, and i didn't even think they meant what they were saying and i didn't understand why it bothered them so much that I’m obese !. Of course i was very childish to think that and i know that they only said these things to me because they love me and want what’s best for me.

I don't know how or when I stumbled upon the biggest secret of losing weight, the ATKINS diet. But I did. I’m not exactly an expert on diets, so I rarely know any names of any diets but I got to know more about all kinds of diets because I wanted to know how reliable and effective ATKINS is. The first thing I did was buying the book which I read cover to cover, it was such an EYE OPENER, it felt as if I were reading the story of my life, and so began my journey :D towards my ultimate reasonable goal to reach 65 kgs.

Now I’m a realistic person, and I don’t expect to reach that goal in less than a year, but if I did halleluiah! So I decided to make this a lot easier is to have two main goals.

Goal #1: to reach 87.5 kgs (I don’t care when as long as I reach it)
Goal #2: to reach 65 kgs (now even If I reach this goal, I still have to lose another 15 kgs)

But I’m very pleased with my current goals because they seem achievable to me :D I’m very close to my first Goal, and once I achieve it I’m going to have all the energy in the world to start with my second one.

Have you lost weight on Atkins without exercise?
I've been following atkins for 4 months now, and i managed to lose 39 pounds without exercising. but i do move alot because of the burst of energy ATKINS is giving me, i left alot of things at work, i walk alot as well, i make it a point to park my car far away from the my building to walk, i also always take the stairs instead of the elevator, i do the little things that i manage to in the time i have, but i totally believe exercise is important. and i'm waiting for the right time to join a gym and build my muscle, but i'm waiting to reach my first goal to do that Smile

i'm kinda on the same boat,, but the thing is that as long as i'm losing i really don't care,,, although i have to admit; it is a little frustrating knowing you are doing so well on everything else and wonder why am i not losing, especially when i see my buddies on FS losing so much so quickly.. but everyone faces bad days like this one,, i did until today !! i haven't lost much in 3 weeks but i FINALLY did today .. and i'm SOOO GLAD i didn't give up and ruin my diet,, because god knows i was on the edge.

Bad Carb Cravings when you are sick
thanks alot for the post Mrs_jones, i never knew that !! .. but i already don't feel like eating when i'm sick.. laying around, drinking soup is my favorite thing.. especially when i can't left a finger and in a desperate need for anything hot and delicious to clear my throat.

ney carbs
the net carbs = total carbs - fiber

for example in a food label you'll find total grams of carbs, protein, fat, fiber, etc. when you find total carbs including sugar deduct the fiber from that total and you'll be able to calculate net carbs.. Very Happy

Holiday Plans
actually i'm not having much trouble in that area, i've never been a sweets kinda person, i'm not into fruits either,, so i'm safe in that part, but what might help me with the rest of the food is that my appetite is shut completely i don't feel like eating anything at all, my cravings are completely gone, but i would suggest you eat before you go, even if you are on atkins and you went hungry , believe me you will eat whatever you see tempting, your mind will start playing games and convince you with some twisted way that it is okay to eat now and stick with the diet tomorrow << thats how my mind works Razz
