Day 6 in the10,000steps challenge
Its almost the end of week 1 in this challenge to walk 10,000 steps in a day and what I have found out is that Monday through Friday its hard to do with sitting at a desk all day but small changes to my usual routine will make a difference, that its ok to catch up on your favorite shows and jog in place and that what ever doesn't get accomplished during the week will have a chance to be made up on the weekend. Sunday was a crumby day outside where the sun was hidden by the clouds all day long but that didn't stop me from gettin my step on, my mom and I headed out solo to catch up on our lives and get those steps in, 3.5 miles around the park, I was already at 10,800 steps, I still had to go food shopping and prepare the upcoming week's meals, done and done, by the end of the night I walked an amazing 12,708 steps, I made up all those missed steps and earned an extra 943 steps to bank.

Today's mission, get new sneakers to keep me motivated, I heart new sneakers, so shiny and white and here's to the last day in week 1.

Day 5 in the 10,000 steps challenge, success!
After an unsuccessful LAZY Friday, and with only 6,447 steps logged, my mission for Day 5 was simple, make up those steps, I had decided when I started this challenge that the weekends were going to be my make up days, any steps not logged during the work week would have to be made up on the weekends, when I had the extra time to put in the steps. Saturday was an uneventful day, except I exercised for what felt like all day, each time I needed something, needed to go somewhere, I did it myself, unusual for me because I normally split the errands with my husband. It started out with an hour of piloxing (which is a combo of pilates, dance and boxing, in bare feet), then my weight training class for another hour, shopping (which is usual Saturday activity), food shopping, 2 mile walk with my faithful sidekicks, Mimi and Howie and finally, laundry and cleaning up around the house.

TOTAL STEPS: 12,575.
Steps left to make up for the other days, 1,765. Today, just like yesterday, I will walk 11,765 and then tomorrow is the last day in the first week of this challenge. Let's get to steppin.

The best piece of advice my neighbor gave me was start out at your slowest pace, everyone is going to go full throttle out of the starting line, they will loose momentum, about half way through, start to kick it up to your normal speed and then the last 3 miles, run like you have never ran before, the crowd cheering will keep you going, good luck and post your results!

Day 4 in the 10,000 steps challenge.
My Friday, after the loss of my freebie pedometer, I got on my loaner freebie pedometer and got to steppin, but after a long work week and less motivation after I got home, I looked at my pedometer and only 5,500 steps logged, crap, with less than 4 hours left in the day and an already planned date night out, I wasn't going to make it and i didn't.

Steps walked: 6,447

Steps for health 6,000 a day
Steps for weight loss 10,000 a day
I guess I have alot of steps to make up this weekend.......

Day 3, results are inconclusive
After experiencing such success on day 2, my motivation was high, I climbed the stairs and stayed active on my feet as much as I could but when I got home and realized I was right around 6500 steps, how could I make the 10,000 mark with less than 4 hours left in the day. Thursday nights I work at the gym as a fitness instructor for a weight training class, great for the muscles not for my steps. I stayed active until I had to go to the gym, in 45 minutes, by stepping in place while watching Revenge. Then, when stepping wasn't enough I started a little jog, luckily no one was home to watch me make an idiot out of myself. I was ahead of the game, at 8,750 steps down. I got to the gym and filled my faithful participants in on my progress, I was at 8,916. After class i looked down at my pedometer, 786, wait I was at 8,916 just an hour ago what just happened? After 2 days of the challenge, my freebie stepper was actin a fool. HELP, i got home, 125 steps, are you freaking kidding me, stupid freebie. LUCKILY, I kept checking my stepper at what seemed like a little guardian angel at work because I added the totals together after a little more time on my feet.....so the results are inconclusive.

Steps taken, that I can actually account for: 10,176
Miles: UNDETERMINED
Calories: Undetermined.

Here's to DAY 4 and shopping for a new pedometer, if you know a good one, fill me in, this can not happen again.
