I try to order based on my WOE...I stay away from simple carbs, sugars, and empty calories...if we go for burgers, I order my burger with everything I like except the bun...if we go for Mexican, I order fajitas with no tortilla or retried beans and rice (I will use a chip as a spoon or just a spoon to enjoy the salsa or pico de Gallo)...got to plan ahead

I'm on keto so steak and veggies or a burger no bun and salad.. cheat days should not be an all out cheat whole day..it should be 1 meal and dessert other than that don't set yourself back for 3 whole meals of cheating

I order a small appetizer and some side dishes. It keeps things varied and portioned

Ditto @bubblegumpink84 ....those “cheat days” are good eating habit killers for me. One bad meal and back on track

When i go out and eat, i pick the low carb food, and on a cheat day still lower the carb, because on those cheat day, the scale will go back up, I know because it did with me. #KeepingItReal

My weight loss stopped after a trip to a restaurant with friends. Thought I ordered well, but it did not work out well. Have now banned myself from restaurants until weight loss is finished. These days I enjoy a good steady weight loss again. Flavor enhancers are common at restaurants here, and it spikes blood sugar 300%, which start up the constant hunger machinery. Still have no idea how to avoid that in future restaurant visits. I may just go with friends, and have just water. Don't know.

Cheat days aren't worth it, in my experience. Screws too hard with the metabolism and all.

Agree Lon never cheated, never will. I take this as a matter of life and death, because it is!

I've been on Keto for about 6 months. I used to do a cheat day once in awhile, but I have to start all over again, and the weight loss stalls, so for me it's not worth it. I rarely go out to eat, so don't have much advice on that, except that if you do choose to eat at a restaurant don't choose fast food chains. At a good restaurant you can specify no added flavorings in your burger and so on and try to pick the best options.

I agree about cheat days not being worth it! I almost ALWAYS either eat (tons of satisfying fats) before I go to socialize, or pack my own yummy food along. If I were stuck without those options, I might order a crustless pizza. More and more places will make those for customers now (shredded cheese as the 'crust', then the toppings on that. Not perfect, since their cheese probably is loaded with fillers, etc, but at least avoiding some of the carbs, etc to order that.)

Chinese buffet - go to a barbeque one - Put the good ingredients in - Salad bar and fruits are there also - There is plenty of good food at a chinese buffet so you feel you are cheating but you are not - Are there very many fat chinese people ? - Remember, you are living your life and controlling your life - You have to take some risks but know what to do after the fact - We are all in school but we can have fun and know it won't affect us - PS , go at lunch so you can burn some calories during the day - Not if but when and go green -

Salads, usually, being diabetic. But I've always loved salads. I don't know if it can be called cheating, because I never get away with it. But NACHOS, is one of my favorite.

Try not to cheat. It’s not worth it. Trust me. when I go out, I order steak and ask for butter to melt on top of it And a salad with cheese, bacon, boiled eggs, lots of dressing and no croutons. It works well.

Yes cheat, it’s totally worth it...but at the beginning only cheat one meal in 1 or 2 days a week... if u cheat for breakfast get back on track with snacks n after meals

If I know I’m gonna eat out later in the day I fast all morning, (coffee does the trick)....for instance I’ll try to fast until noon, I’ll eat lowest amount of calories I can at noon.. then there comes 4pm I have a cheat meal n yes I never regret them, they are delicious 🤤 😋

When I over eat in the morning....which it’s really rare I pay close attention to the calories n try to keep them as low as possible 😉
