Feeling a little frustrated. I didn't cheat on thanksgiving, but I'm pretty sure I went over net carbs. But since then I've been back on track. Eating pretty basic, but I've gained 2 pounds. And those 2 pounds are not moving. Am I being a little obsessive - since it's only been 5 days? Anyone else been in the same situation?

Hey Emily, for the last 6 months you have consistently lost weight and you now have some new positive mental associations with your efforts. Do not let a few days discourage you. Your numbers will improve again shortly. Stay steady and have faith. You got this!

Coach is right - being consistent (even when the scale won't be) is the BEST way to muddle through these momentary stumbles.

Emily, I am on a plant based diet and had to eat at a friend's house for Thanksgiving. It threw me off course completely! I gained two pounds also and it is frustrating! Every day is a new day and I am trying to get back on track. The holidays are always tough on diets, just remember where you came from and keep on plodding along. You are doing great, keep up the good work!!!!

Thank You guys so much!! I just need to keep going and throw that damn scale away. I'm not going to fake the funk... I get obsessive with the scale as with a lot of things. It always feels great to see weight loss and it stings when you see a gain even when you are trying. But i agree with you all.. consistency!!! :D

I get really obsessive at times. And there have been times that the scale doesn't budge for a week even though I am doing everything right. But I know if I stay on course it will all work itself out.

i'm like Jana58, scale doesn't move every week, but I can tell by my clothing. That, or the elastic just gave up. (I kid!)

Hang in there and weigh once in a week or two weeks, otherwise you’ll be discouraged! Stay focused! You will get back down! 👍

I had been doing really well on keto, but ate too many carbs for Thanksgiving. Weight is up, and it will take days to re-adapt to ketosis and lose it. Arrrrrgh!

Ditto the great comments above Emily...just know that almost EVERYONE that has long term success on this site has had at least one plateau along the way...and I don't consider it a plateau unless it's at least ten days. Sometimes rehydration, muscle building, etc. masks our good efforts and sometimes the body just needs a short reset before the next drop. Keep on keeping on, you are doing great!!

This works for me and I dont have to feel guilty if I go a little over carbs. Jyst follow your high carb day with a low one. Folliw it with a day of PROTIEN ONLY. In fact accordding to a book I read you should have a cheat day once a week and follow with a high protien day to keep from plateauing. But very your cheat day because your body regulates. But I try not to spike my sugar to high because it an addiction for me. I just need to stay away from unhealthy sugary carbs.

You can do a Plateau breaker.. I work with a weight loss doctor and some options would be three eggs for lunch two for dinner and fast for breakfast.. or three apples for lunch and three for dinner .. or bullet coffee for breakfast and lunch and a steak for dinner.. every time I stay the same weight for two days in a row he has me do a breaker from the above choices. Works like a charm.

LISTEN TO ME. You only fail if you give up. Don't stop your diet. Keep going.

@happiness_will_be- I ended up doing an egg fast to break my stall and try to at least lose the weight I gained. It worked and now I'm back on the grind. :) Thanks again everyone, we all hit a plateau but I will NOT give up!!! :D

I concur with Jipper500! Get up and ride!!!!! It was 1 day in 365. I ate a TON of carbs during the Thanksgiving 4 day weekend and I felt horrible. Monday, I got back on the Keto wagon and dropped fast. Drink lots of water and go light on the carbs. I get chewable magnesium, on Amazon, and I take one everyday. It really helps keep my system clean. Blessings. ~ Andi

I also gained two pounds over thanksgiving, but I wasn't really watching what I ate too closely. I just tried to keep everything in moderation. I'm not a turkey, so no stuffing me is allowed! It came back off pretty quick. I'm just trying to view these holiday splurges as pause buttons. These are not going to undo my work, just make everything take a little longer.

same here... but usually it takes a week for the scale to move but when it does its at .2 increments... so it takes me about another week or two to lose it. its so hard.
