exercise for very overweight lady
I have a "Tony Little's Gazelle" (skier/glider) and I swear it's worth it's weight in gold. You can do all kinds of exercises on it. Currently I'm doing it in a crouching position to strengthen my knees.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I'm not afraid of the scale. I only occasionally skip a day if I didn't get in a proper morning poop. But I don't let that scale go lonely for long. It's my friend. It comforts me. It lets me know I'm on track. It does not own me, I own it.
