chesgreen's Journal, 06 November 2017

I think I suffer from depression. Not getting enough sun. I just want to eat. Broke my 95 days of logging food yesterday. I have a bag of peanut M&Ms in front of me and I already had 2... make that 3. It is only 8:37 AM.

208, TWO ZERO EIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! Might as well keep going and make that 210 or 220. Why stop now. Bye bye 6 pack for summer of 2018 and here comes the big fat guy ready to get sand kicked on me by the little kids when I take a nap on the beach or ever worse, maybe some one will yell "Roll him back in the water, he's suffocating"

Why, Why?

Sugar is my friend.

My BP is 160 over 100 --- What the hell?

I dunno anymore.

Ches: I think you are on to something. As the days get shorter, less sun and temps dip it's easy to move towards food to make up for the loss. i too am not feeling as energized and positive and I think it is because of SAD.

I have SAD too. Try taking Vitamin D supplements; they're like sunshine in a bottle and they DO help :)

chess DO NOT GIVE up on yourself. we all have been there. I have been there and said the same things to myself you were/are saying to yourself. and it is not a pleasant mental state to be in. change your thinking about the relationship you have with the foods you eat,and I truly believe the rest will be effortless. simply because you would've made your MIND up you don't want to live like this, eat like this, feel like this..... You can do this! And btw, sugar is not your friend, you are.

I would say don't stress so much. Go ahead eat your M&Ms. You are not going to fall off your track by taking 1 day to cheat on your meals. We are only human and have temptations. Have your day and tomorrow get back to work. Remember it's ok to have sweets. it's not ok to over due on sweets. That's why we track our calories. either eat less of something else one day or spread ut though out the week. Or treat your self to 1 cheat meal a week with in you calorie count and not over. Remember it's calories over everything. Summer is just around the corner best time to work is during off season.

Way to go Ches! I'm glad to see you back on the wagon with the rest of us. Everyone on this wagon struggles with you. It's a daily battle as you know well. Tackle it like a super hero.

Great support here from people who are in your corner, Coach Yeah, it gets tough for all of us, from time to time. But the true Warriors know what we want, we know how to do it, and we WILL get it done. A stumble is not a fall. A moment of weakness is not a fail. We get up, we carry on, and we take strength from what we know, what our true friends give us, and what makes us strong. Today I had a, "I've fallen and I can't get up" moment, and it taught me a lot. We're here to boost you!

You CAN have visible abs by Summer! Hey, I need a competitive buddy to get me through Jeff Cavalier's 22-day routine. (It's one short vid on YT.) Hit me up if you're game.

This post does sound depressed. Get yourself some sunlight if you think that is the cause. Spend as much time as you can outside, don't stay indoors. Take a vacation down south if you have to. Also, exercise is an anti-depressant. The bag of M&M's is 250 kcal. Go for a walk for an hour and enjoy the M&M's as you walk, in the knowledge that the walk will use up the calories and bring you back in balance while both the M&M's and the walk make you feel better about yourself.

Thanks all. I am pulling through despite screaming inside because I have this unusual thirst for 2 glasses of wine. I am really thirsty for this as it has been 44 hours since I had a sip. The wife better not be sipping on a glass when I walk in the house like yesterday. Yikes!

No, no, no!!! This is not how leaders talk! It reminds me of the classic Shakespeare line "Some weight-losers are born great, some achieve weight-loss and some have peanut M&Ms thrust upon them." Or something like that. What I mean to say is, too many people dig your efforts and you have been leading from the front with courage and comedy under duress. You'll come about. I can guarantee it. We have to take the bad with the good or the good just wouldn't good. Or something like that. Peace John

Best advice I was ever given you can't put all the weight you lost back on in a day. So now when I have a bad day I do get on the scale the next morning because its fun to watch how quickly that I bad day goes away!!!
