On here a little late this morning due to dentist appointment - just routine. Another good thing about eating low carb - No Cavities!
Since the weather has turned cooler I find I'm eating a lot less raw veggies. I need to pay attention to how this affects my weight loss. I really don't want to force myself to eat them (because if I have to force myself I won't stick with it). Will just have to wait and see.

Buffy - you couldn't be more right - "because if I have to force myself I won't stick with it" - this has definitely been one of the most valuable lessons I have learnt this year :)

Tracy - Thanks for agreeing. And I just noticed you have changed the first paragraph in your profile page. Don't be discouraged, you have come a long ways and you'll get there. Doesn't matter if it happens at 40, 41 or even 42. You will get there!

Or 49. There is a coffee cup here at work that I am thinking about taking home. It says "It took me 50 years to look this good."

Any time you can go to the dentist and have no cavities...thats awesome..I am afraid I won't eat as much of the good veggies either...
but I will have to make some soups etc..out of the canned ones...

Glad the dentist appt went well. I understand about the veggies...it's hard to find quality ones during the off season! As Bren said, soups are great!

Stef - Believe it or not, I can make a mean pot of soup!

Bren - I haven't had a cavity in about 10 years. Funny, it has been about 10 years (when my doctor discovered the my blood sugar was high) since I've drank soda and other carriers of sugar (at least on a regular basis). Think there is a connection?

Buffy, the good news about cooler weather is that all those ice cream treats are less appealing too. Now, pumpkin chili? That's the ticket....I even took 2 servings out of the freezer to thaw today. Hope you're having a great day.

Buffy good job at the dentist, that's not my favorite place to go, even though I don't have cavities, I just don't like the cleaning & really just don't like sitting in a dentist chair ! I agree with you, if I have to force myself to eat something it won't last long...

I don't like to go to the dentist either, never did! One of those necessary evils we deal with I guess. Now, about those veggies, I agree, you gotta like 'em or it tastes & smells like a darn diet!

Yes, low carb probably helps the teeth, though I have two cavities that need to be done in the next few months - I have to wait until a dentist is available now. I do like broth and need to buy some - it is one of the best low-carb foods for winter...

I have some cavities that must be fixed from before changing my WOE but I hopefully won't end up with more :) I actually have a dentist appt tomorrow for a cleaning then I assume schedule a time to fix the cavities I currently have. Neither of my children have cavities though and my daughter is 4 1/2 already.

Dentist- don't remind me. Need to go as well.
I had the same thought you had, that the low card lifestyle will result in healthier teeth.
As for the raw veggies and cold weather, I hear you. Kind of difficult to heat up salad lol*, but what about broccoli and cauliflower steamed? I guess there are a lot of alternatives out there, we just have to see them :-)
Oh, just thought of something. A traditional way where I come from was to pour hot bacon with the grease over lettuce it.That should warm you up. I never ate it but let me know how it tasted if you give it a try!
