Hello my Fat Secret Friends!

Sorry to have been silent for so long, but I have been doing well. After struggling with maintenance for a while, I have adopted a zen approach to the situation. I have stopped logging my food and exercise, instead relying on the way I feel to guide me. And, I feel great. I do not always eat everything just right, but I have been able to keep all of those wonderful habits I formed while losing the weight and have been able to keep my diet balanced. I have been getting a lot of exercise--getting to the gym five times a week, walking the dog, and trying to fit in a hike or two as well. I have also stayed away from the scale. My new clothes still fit. I feel good. I do not need to stay obsessed with the number on the scale.

I feel like I have graduated, successfully completing the Izzypup course of Fat Secret School. :) I have learned mindfulness. I have learned to pay attention to what my body needs (and does NOT need). I have gained an appreciation for feeling healthy and strong and refuse to go back to where I was. I also know that if things ever do begin to fall out of balance, I have my buddies here and the tools of FS to help get me back on track.

So, carry on the good fight, my friends. :) I am pulling for each and every one of you!

You are an inspiration to those of us who are still far from goal. Getting to goal and then keeping it off seems impossible sometimes. It is good to know that others have done it, and so can I

So does this mean that you've abandoned your goal of 140? It may not be important, and I don't know why you picked that number initially. I'm glad you've found comfort in your (current) skin, but I do hope you'll get the final approval from your doctor, who will run Lipids for you and all that to make sure you're Just Right on the inside, too.

Soonsoonsoon--145 was my initial goal and I have made it there. When I was having trouble with maintaining, I thought I would be more relaxed about things if I dropped to 140, then I would be able to go up a bit without being above 145 (which seems to be the perfect number for me after looking at many calculators & charts). Yes, I have abandoned the 140 goal in favor of this happy spot in which I find myself. I did have a physical and blood work done about 2 months ago and everything looks fantastic on that front. :)

Good work I'm just a new to FatSecret And would have liked to have known your struggle.And it is a struggle to maintain a certain weight Stay well.

Good for you Izzy!! I'm not here quite as much either but still need to spur on the exercise as I've been lax lately and not making it a prioity, unlike you.

I tried it last time and it didn't work for me. First I had this, zen I had zat, and some more a zat, and zen a little o' dis. Zen I was dieting down again.

LOL @ Northernmusician that made me laugh !! but good Job Izzy so glad to hear your living life as you should and able to feel normal . Don't forget we need Mentors around here to help with the people just starting out and ppl like me who struggle now and then and get frustrated , we love to hear success stories ,we all need that motivation . So stick around when you can please and don't be a stranger . :-)
