Busy life--wouldn't have it any other way!! You can tell by y site name I like whole foods. I love to cook all kinds of natural foods and delve into many cuisines. I'm a leftover health food nut from the 70's who has always loved exploring cusines from all over the globe. There are all sorts of interesting foods to try. I also have 20+ years of restaurant background. I also make beer and wine.

I work full time as a customer service rep for a mutual fund company. I'm also a professional long-arm quilter and quilt quilts for people. A side part of that is selling the longarm machines doings some teaching, and sell a few supplies. Quilting is a passion. Learning to make wire wrapped jewlery.

I am currently single with 9 grandchildren. I spend alot of time at grandkids sports events and in the summer attending mud runs as one daughter and her husband race and fishing for catfish with another son-in-law and grandaughter--we leave my daughter in bed as she hates mornings. I'm slowly remodeling my house and most of the year work on my yard and gardens one of these days I'll get both so I'm happy with them. I always seem to be tearing something apart.

By losing weight and getting back into shape I hope to be able to keep up with my life without getting so tired and be able to do more of the things I like to do. Hoping that once I lose the wt doc tells me I need to I will feel better about myself and get involved in a new relationship.

I live with a chatty and very onery Quaker Parrot, an 8yr old pom mix male dog who thinks he's a big dog, and a little girl boston terrier mix puppy born 3-31-13 She's a very active character.-wish I had her almost never ending energy. My goal is to train her for agility competition should be fun. Also playing with making homemade wholesome dog treats.

You can do the Trish. Haven't had diabetic issues myself. Cutting out the sweets and adding whole nutritious fords will make a huge difference. You can also try adding winter squash or pumpkin instead of potatoes.

how has this journey affected you life besides weight loss?
So agree.... love it that other people feel the same. I feel good about me. Everything in my life is better. Physically and that's the tip of the iceberg. I used to struggle climbing up bleachers to my grandkîd's games, I still get off the floor funny (due to surgery back in 1986) but it no longer hurts.

I'm no longer controlled by pain. My grandkids love the fact I can do things with them and not hurt or slow them down. I'm loving it. I don't limp and hurt everyday, my cane hangs unused.

I will always love food. I love to cook. Love to try new things, My cookbook collection will get bigger. Will watch portions and exercise (as much as I can fit in), no matter what.

It's been quite the journey for me and it has not ended, helped along by the kind people here.

You might want to use plain or just yogurt with fruit, check the label. Many Ave lots of added sugar and other ingredients.

how has this journey affected you life besides weight loss?
Kinda quiet lately with the holidays. Something to ponder heading for the new year. My journey has affected so much. I can do so much more now as the weight loss and exercise has decreased the daily pain level to almost none. So much more energy, I can tackle my world most days with a positive attitude. Even my attitude towards my family and friends has improved. Thought others beginning their journey would like some input.

I am so thankful for the influence this site has had on my life

Is All Fast Food Bad?
Sorry I do not understand that comment about fast food that every one loves it. I really do not like it. it's generally greasy, tastes of old fry grease (fry grease usually used too long, better food cost) and chemicals. Even the salads are coated in chemicals to make them stay fresh-looking in their little plastic packages. Used to be a McDonald's manager, not many jobs available where I lived at the time. Real homemade tastes like food, is filling and satisfies. My grandkids even say my hamburgers and their dad's on the grill are lots better than McDonald's.
