My WOE is now easy for me as it was never a diet but a plan of eating that fits me. Diets do not work. I still have a long ways to go on the fitness and it will be a lifetime to keep that fitness and weight. I used have chronic pain and what a difference!

My WOE has become increasingly vegetarian, though I still do meat now and then in small amounts. I've decreased dairy as I have found it increases asthma symptoms. I find that prepping some foods on weekends so ready for the work week is mandatory. A couple dishes that can be used for lunches and quick dinners all week is so helpful.

This journey has changed my life in so many positive ways. It's not just a weight loss journey but one to face all your demons and in the end be a more positive person feeling good about yourself and your world.

I am currently single 68 yo with 10 grandchildren (2 are steps), 3 great step great grandchildren. I live with a chatty and very onery Quaker Parrot and a little girl boston terrier mix born 3-31-13 and a hound mix rescue pup born in July 2015 and a crazy cat. Both of my pup girls are very active and funny.

I now have 4 chickens, one is a rooster and will be re-homed as I cannot keep him in the city. I still need to finish building their run this spring and put some finishing touches on their coop, and re-do the doors as I'm not happy with them. They started laying Christmas Eve so now I have totally fresh eggs.

I have not read all the posts here but keep in mine that processed food have chemicals in them that make them addictive and also have lots of sodium in them. My suggestion is to prepare your food from real ingredients and eat during the day. Studies have shown for one that your brain functions better with fuel during the day. Take a serious look at what foods you like and how you and your family cook. Take steps to change to avoid processed foods. Those have lots of chemicals to addict you to them. Just my take on the world.

Looking for low sodium heart healthy foods
Simply cook your own from scratch and control the sodium. Most processed foods are loaded with sodium, that includes vegan and vegetarian. Keep in mind some foods are naturally high in sodium ie: tomatoes, cheeses etc. Also keep in mind that your heart does need a certain amount of sodium to function. My sodium level went too low at one point, just happened to have a doc appt. Since I eat little processed foods my doc told me to start adding some back into my plan.

OH yeah definitely no canning. I have a beautiful canner but it's way to big to use for everyday cooking since I no longer have a family at home to feed.

Thanks, t ann and Agels. I canned for years with a huge garden so pressure cooking became part of my life using my canner. When my dad died in 99 my Mom gave me his smaller pressure cooker (not a canner) as she was terrified of it. I have a gas stove so no issues with any type of stove. I am curious how your yogurt function works for you. Actually will be starting some yogurt today in my little 1970's vintage electric yogurt maker to use up some milk (it still works).
