Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come. ~ Robert H. Schuller

I see some of my friends going through similar struggles and this resonated for me in my journey. I want it now. I want to be successful and healthy and thin and happy and important to others and helpful and visible and invisible but I don't want to wait. I want it now.

I used to think I was patient and non-judgmental and had no need for asserting control. God's been showing me the last couple years (mostly through experiences) that this is not the case and I have areas to work on, as most do. I'm grateful to be aware of it and challenge it when I catch myself but it isn't easy and it the changes aren't immediate.

For the most part, the real reason we are overweight has nothing to do with food. It's those other parts of us that have a wrong relationship to food. We celebrate with food. We comfort with food. We show love with food. We entertain with food, even if it's only ourselves.

So be patient, buddies. Work on the parts you can. Know that you are growing and that growing, it was pointed out to me, takes courage. Courage is not being unafraid, it's doing what you do anyway in spite of fear. It seems like overcoming fear has been a theme for me recently...

Be patient buddies. Be kind to yourself in your growth. And happy Friday!

Well said! We have to figure out what's eating us before we can find that good relationship with ourselves and food! Have a great weekend!

North, I have been told never to ask for patience. You will be given opportunities to develop it lol.

I agree. Well said. I started my weight loss journey, again, when I was graced with the understanding that the food that comforts me was killing me and destroying my health. I see so many with the same struggle and send prayers their way.
