Happy Monday, Buddies!

I just got home from a three day trip to the North Shore of Lake Superior. We had a pleasant time. I did not completely throw caution to the wind - but did eat extra foods and had a Carbolooza!

I did well on July 4th - and had ice cream as my treat. Then, yesterday, we went to breakfast and dinner and I ate potatoes, bread and pasta. BIG carbs, and such a treat with a nice glass of Pinot Noir at dinner.

Today, I will be back on track starting with my dinner meal, and also back to the gym Tuesday morning.

I ate carbs I have not had in over six months! It was OK - I did not go overboard - but it seemed I didn't care whether I had them or not. I think it was just the idea I was taking one day off to choose menu items I normally would avoid.

Now, I am over it for the next 12 weeks of my Challenge at my gym!

Words of the Week:
"Watch your character today, for it becomes your destiny."
I am dedicated, determined and diligent.

hey I think a lot of us took a day off this weekend. We will get back on track. Today has been very low carb and calorie for me. I did go out and walk my dog for a half hour. It wasn't too terribly hot and they recently grated the road so it didn't have too many ruts, and the gravel was not the huge kind that twists your ankle. Course it will rain the next few days and that could ruin the road. I'm sure you will have no problem getting back on track!

Yeah, I think you were due. So, I will be on the north shore in 8 days.... I will be flying into Minneapolis on Tuesday .... And rent a taxis to pickup a cheaper rental car ..... Closer too 35w ... it's crazy, like $200 difference than renting it out of the airport. We will be staying in a new resort in Duluth, but will run up the shore .... Making our regular stops. Where did you eat? I'm ready to get out of the heat. I can almost taste the crisp air ....

I'm glad you had a great weekend! Isn't it funny how we quit eating things and after a time they really aren't the big deal we used to think they were?

It's funny how those forays off your plan backfire sometimes but they are a great learning experience. You find you really don't like the same things anymore or they simply make you sick to your stomach, what I call a little kid tummy ache.

You know I lived in Minnesota most my life and have never yet been to Duluth! I've been to Bemidji and other northern areas.

Glad you had fun, and I'm glad you experienced the "Why did I think this was so great?" phenomenon. Now back to the salt mines with you!

check out michelob ultra...2.9 Carb, 90 cal, 4.3% alc. per 12oz bottle. If your worried about the wine being 'too much'. I don't drink and this was the first in over a year (I even gave up my home-brewing). I'd love to ride around the great lakes, but I have to suffer with jaunts to the the ocean, lake Tahoe and the sierra mountains.. :( poor me
