Who am I...good question! In short, I am a very "young" 68 yr. old woman who has been blessed with a life of adventure. My current adventure finds me living in West Texas. My husband and I run a agricultural spray business in a small rural community. He flies and I do the booking, etc.
Before West Texas, we lived aboard a beautiful big boat in Galveston, TX for six years...that ended with Hurricane Ike decided to take her for a cruise to destruction. For now, we are land-based and dreaming of our next lifestyle change.
In my former life I lived in the Chicago area and was a teacher/principal for 35 years. We have a daughter who is married and lives in Chicago with her hubby, their precious daughter and one cat. Our youngest daughter attends University of Notre Dame and is involved with Navy ROTC.
Weight has always been an issue for me...however, it has never prevented me from doing things that I wanted to do...lately, however, I have begun to think that maybe I need to think more about my health in order to extend my opportunities for more adventures. Losing weight seems to be the key so here I am working the Atkins approach and feeling healthier every day.
My goal is 160 pounds...haven't weighed that weight since I was 19. However, I have been close since the age of 19 and realize that it is attainable. But for today, I am content to see numbers on the scale continue to be lower. I didn't gain all this weight overnight and know that it is not going to come off in one big drop...wouldn't it be nice, however!
I live the thought, "this is a day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad with it." I know that if I stay the course that I will see the results I want.
