Happy Thursday, Buddies!

Today I am doing 16:8 again...I am still experimenting. Eating window will be around 1:00pm until 9:00pm - sounds weird but this is how my work schedule plays out. Not so sure if this will work for me though because it seems hard to get all my protein grams eaten in that shorter window.

Off day from the gym; so I got to sleep in a little bit. We just got a new mattress. It is a Serta Hybrid iSeries mattress - meaning it has pocket coils underneath a couple layers of memory foam materials. It is firm but has a cushioned feeling vs. some memory foam beds that are like rocks.

The jury is still out on whether it will help my little aches and pains. Our other mattress was old and I have been blaming my body aches on the bed...LOL...hmmmm...maybe I am just old?

I am still easing myself back into the 16:8. Ends up being more like 15:9, but I'll get there. Best of luck with your new mattress.

Hard to know .. I seem to do better on hotel beds (mattress) than home anymore.. am beginning to wonder if mine is too firm or just holding negative energy. That happens, you know. I keep thinking about getting a new one too.

I always blame my mattress too. How long do mattresses live anyway?

I switch my mattress several times a year, I have a pillow top, so I switch the head to the feet, and then the next time the feet to the head, Its really does help, I have had it since 2006, and its still like brand new. I stay accountable to myself, because its my mouth, lol.

I can't find where I asked this, but what is a 16:8??

I believe, that you fast for 16 hours and you eat your food during the 8 hours. So you could choose, for instance, start eating your meals at 7 am and eat your last meal by 3 pm. Or whatever schedule you want, no food during the 16 hour period. I think you drink water, hot tea ,during that time though.

What's the supposed benefits of the 16:8 fast? Does it work for you? Do you take a reduced calorie/ macro intake during your eating time, or I'm assuming you are trying to make up your full macros in the 8 hours? How many days will you do 16:8? I have hit a plateau and am considering doing some sort of fasting, or a calorie hit. I need a jolt.

I got a comparable mattress about 8 years ago, and I really liked it. Unfortunately, not long after, I herniated two disks in my back and have been sleeping in a lazy boy chair ever since -- but my guests say the mattress is very comfortable!

Will be interested to see how the mattress works out for you. I need a new one for the guest bedroom but I use it a lot when I have colds or need to take our storm-phobic dog to another room to sleep with lights on.

I try to eat 16:8 most days too, and love it. I just tell myself though that if I'm truly too hungry to wait, then I eat, of if I let myself get over-hungry, I can easily over-eat. Xoxox

be sure to have some jello sugar free kind, they are 20 calories, a couple of them with a couple of squirts of a low calorie whipped cream helps.
