Annabelle3117's Journal, 05 August 2014

Well hello there! You all didn't forget about me, did you? I took a break, although it was never a conscious decision that I made. One day turned into four... then turned into just over a week. I am sorry, haven't really been myself. I suspect it may be my new med for anxiety that is causing this complete lack of ambition in everything. Even things that I love, like bike rides, I have no real desire to do.

My weight is up a few pounds, as it should be. I've been carb loading for a week and a half lol. It hasn't been an all out binge, but poor choices. My appetite has changed a lot too, and it seems all that is appealing are carb rich foods. Being aware is half of the battle though, right? I'm taking steps to counter all of the things that have been holding me back lately, and rejoining my friends here is the first step. Hopefully the time I 'wasted' will have served as a metabolism boost.

Now a brief update on all the things I haven't shared. I had my wedding rings resized for the second time. When I married they were a 9.5, today my rings are a size 7. Wonderful NSV. I scored a perfect 100% on my exam in school last week, and dissected a delightful pig eyeball. I did not make my 75 mile in 31 day goal. Boo!! I ended ten miles short. I will redo this challenge in the fall as requested by Bella, and I'll nail it.

That's about all I've got for right now. My goal today is to log my intake and stay accountable. Wish me luck :)

Have a wonderful day!!

Good luck!! Sometimes those meds can mess with you. Hopefully it's just a matter of getting used to it. I hope it is helping with the anxiety though. Great job on the exam!! And even if you didn't get the full 75 miles in, you did great considering stress, class, work, and just life. You just keep being awesome! :)

Congrats on all accounts!! The first thing I noticed when I started losing was my wedding actually fit again!

Good luck to you. I missed you here :) Your results on the exam are wonderful!!! I know how medication can mess with you. Just push through it and you can get back into your routine and beat whatever is bringing you down. If you don't - you may end up wallowing in it for a while. Mind over matter :) You can do this. Once you get back on track - even if it is the medicine that is causing this 'issue' you will feel much better and be able to deal with it more easily.

Welcome back from your brief hiatus. Coming here to get back to business is the thing to do. Way to go with the score of 100% you are awesome!

Wonderful to have you back. I can say that I've felt your absence. You've had a lot of changes going on, it's only natural to have to step back and reinvent what the new-normal is to be. It will all come together soon...you know that.

What they said! Lol, well, I have missed you and last night as I was walking (for the first time in a while), I thought about you, nursing school, your challenge, etc. I for one missed you! As a nurse myself, well do I know the pitfalls of medications. Sorry it has robbed you of your motivation. But, you're back on here, so you are pushing through the motivation barrier :-)

Glad you are back!! Great on the exam! Yew on the pig eye! Hope the meds will do what you need them for, plus get back your motivation or whatever you need to do. Take care, have fun!

I thought maybe you noticed how far off I was on the challenge and decided to get my miles in for me.. and after a few days found yourself so far from home you decided to stay and vacay, LOL. Glad you're back.. congrats on the exam! Pig's eye, hmmm? Ick. Although, I take that back, I remember being delightfully intrigued by a fish eye .. wait.. no, that was the frog's eye. Here's to the meds helping... you deserve a little break.

Hang in there Yolanda and a big YES on the resizing of your beautiful wedding rings. You are so aware that I am sure things will once again fall right in place. Have a super day my friend :)

Excellent ob on your exam! As for the weight, I know that you will knock that off too.

Congrats on the NSV! Eyes are probably my favorite thing to dissect because they always look like the textbook illustrations, no peering at mysterious brown glop wondering if it used to be a pancreas.

Wtg on the exam. Dont worry about losing focus, we all do that, the point is you realized you were doing it and stopped it. Hopefully soon you will be resetting your ring another 3 sizes

Pig eyeball. :| Nursing if I recall. Remember that medicine is your tool, but the people are why you're there. You'll be great. So out of touch right now.

I also struggle with anxiety. I had a flare up in July and have been trying to gain control ever since - 2 steps forward, 1 step back. I haven't used taken any meds for fear of what you are experiencing. I have heard about loss of affect, etc, etc. I wish you all the best on your journey!

Congrats on your exam, and hey 65 miles is pretty damn good! Must be something in the air, the carb syndrome. That's all I wanted to, I think it's my nurturing old habit.
