Annabelle3117's Journal, 07 July 2014

Hey everyone, just checking in. Friday was the best day of my life, Saturday and Sunday were consumed with crippling anxiety and depression. No good reason. Feeling overwhelmed. Supposed to start school tomorrow, but I have this urge to get in my car and leave everything behind. I wont. My thoughts are scattered and I know they hold no water but it doesn't really change things.

No new miles to log over the weekend. Trying to snap out of this funk, easier said than done. It's been a long time since I've been anywhere this dark. Say a prayer for me.

You're such an inspiration to so many of us. I thought about you all week when I was offline cabin camping. I rode my bike and swam and MOVED because of you. Remember how far you have come, what your priorities are and how strong you really are. Prayers going out for you.

Big hugs to you, Yolanda. I had a similarly up-and-down weekend. Sometimes the best days are followed by the awful "come down" of the worst. Maybe you are just nervous about school - don't be! You're one smart cookie and I know you can do it! You have shared so much motivation and love with your family, friends and FS buddies - just remember, You Rock! Sending positive vibes your direction!

Most times the anticipation and dread of an occasion are far worse than the reality of it. Once you start school and get into it, the days will pass more quickly than you could have imagined. You got this one!!!

you will be ok. I agree with Donna Mashbum.. we build things up into these giant snowballs and then they just melt and theres nothing left of them. focus on the good and the here and now. you will get through it.. hold your head high.

I will keep you in my prayers. I have those feelings a lot and continuously pray for God to take them away. I was on medication for awhile but wanted to see if. I could get a grasp without it since insurance wasn't covering and I don't want to take meds unless I need to.

Holding you gently in my heart. Sometimes when you can go over, you must go through. Close your eyes, breathe deep and picture yourself walking out of the darkness.

Change (and anticipation of change) is tough. It won't take long for the new routine to establish and you'll be back to your positive self. Prayers that it all sorts itself out for you soon. Hugs.

You are so strong, Yolanda. You will make it through this. You are also very inspiring. I decided to return to school myself. Only part-time right now. Got to fit it in between all these Challenge miles.

(((Hugs))) and Prayers to you!! Thinking about your new adventure is probably wearing on you. You will do great once you get started!! We all go through these types of things one way or the other. Everyone learns their way of dealing with it. Some singers can't go on stage to perform unless they either throw up or do certain OCD things to get them "tuned up" to go on stage! Some people have to mentally view their audience in underwear or having sex to act in front of people! Do YOUR thing..... and conquer!!!

Awww... hate those swings, don't you? Like, one minute you're flying on top of the world and the next you just want to dig a hole and climb in. All I can offer is it will pass and you just have to stay you, strong and present, until it does. Hugs to you.

Yolanda I'm just curious, have you ever looked into ketogenic eating as a way of controlling your depression? I'm in a group that has embraced high fat, low carb, moderate protein as a way of life and it's surprising how many folks there swear by it for depression and mood swings - one is actually bipolar and she claims it's changed her life! Just food for thought - I have low blood sugar and have had issues with depression & anxiety in the past and it's not something I even think about anymore....am steady and calm all the time now. You have obviously found a good weight loss balance and congratulations on your success - I wish you the happiness and peace you deserve.

I would almost offer have your VitD levels checked .. but you have so much energy I doubt it's that. I've read a low level can lead to lethargy and depression and it takes an RX dose to bring it back up to normal levels.

You need to go and pamper yourself and get out of your and yes, I am going to say it "pity party." You are not that girl. How about getting a mani and pedi to show yourself that you are a "special" person and there are new people to meet and greet at school tomorrow. Come on, you can do it. Life is what you make it, don't let anyone else problems get you down. Pass those problems to the Lord, as he is more equip to handle it than you. And when you rest in him, he can move on your behalf to give you that God kind of peace.

That's the crazy thing about depression, right? Never sure where it comes from and when it will leave again. Like C67 said, above, you have new people to meet and while that could be anxiety-provoking, once you get a few days in, you are bound to be excited about having new friends and supporters. Saying those prayers for you!
