I was inspired by one of my Buddies (Yolanda9179) to fill in some info and goals, so here goes! As of 2014, I am a 47 yr old married mother of 3 (ages 16, 14, 9). I just hit the 20 yr mark in my marriage and one goal this year is to weigh in below my wedding day weight (233 lbs). I am the middle child of 7 children, the eldest daughter and the only sibling with a serious weight problem for much of my life.
Though in fatsecret for several years, this year I started fresh and am determined to fight everyday to get and stay healthy. I had a bit of an epiphany regarding how I eat and what my triggers are and I have been using that knowledge this year to win the battle thus far.
I am a mechanical engineer and work the same hours that my kids are in school. After that, I take on my after hours job of driving to practice, volunteer events, games etc. Like so many Moms in the midst of raising children, it's hard to find time for you, but it's essential if we want to be our best selves for our family. That's part of my mission as well, to take care of me and continue giving my best self to others (not the whiny, cranky, tired, worn out monster that occasionally rears its ugly head)
This year's goals:
- start a serious lifelong journey of getting healthy - done Feb 3, 2014 279.5 lbs
- weigh in below 250 - accomplished May 14, 2014 :-)
- weigh in below wedding day weight of 233 - accomplished July 17, 2014
- hit the halfway mark (54.5 lbs lost, 225lbs)
- Enter one-der-land (weigh in under 200)
- 4 - 6 bike rides w/ the kids this spring/summer - 2 done
- Discard all the size 20 clothes in my closet - DONE 8/21/14
- Refresh wardrobe with flattering clothing - DONE 8/21/14
