Kathy Vanish's Journal, 14 April 2013

I did great this week. I was able to stay on track and lost 5 lbs. Now I am starting to worry about all of the money I have wasted buying clothes because if I keep it up, I am going to need smaller clothes. My husband said to take the clothes in (yes I sew), but am not sure I am a good enough sewer and is it worth it if you only paid a couple of bucks at Wal-Mart.

Congrats. I am giving away all of my big clothes and have found 2nd hand shops such as Good Will until I reach a weight I am comfortable with and then will go shopping. Something I've not really done for 20 years. Actually looking forward to shopping in a regular clothes store.

Congratulations! Just think of clothes shopping as a small incentive. :-) I love Goodwill for my transition clothes. What's the point of buying something for full price, when it's only going to be a temporary coverall? Keep up the good work!

i shop at goodwill all the time! love it! Great name brands if you look around and a small percentage of the price! only buy new runners and bras n things. Everything else is 2nd hand- its like a recycle project, i donate my too big clothes and buy smaller ones.

You deserve your weightloss. You really worked hard for it and don't let it be a problem. Shop at places like Goodwill, until you know your weight has stabilised. In the meantime enjoy the success of your hard work. I have the same problem: went shopping for smart new clothes about a month and a half ago and now nothing fits right. Congrats!

Congratulations Kathy you are doing excellent I wish I could do the same. I think you should get rid of all big clothes or resew them to tell yours subconscious that you don't want to go back just forward ... fit and slim. Just keep your pace!

As I have been losing weight I have been shopping at goodwill; It is the only way I can afford to keep my clothes fitting. I have been donating all my old bigger clothes to them as well. I have personally gone from 5XL shirts to L, and went down 20 pant sizes, so that is a lot of new clothes :). You can do it! Congratulations and keep it going!
