Agreed. Carbs are not evil. I'm over 50 and lost 40 lbs. in 6 months while eating carbs. Processed foods are the issue not fat/carbs. Eat as much whole foods as you want and not worry about it.

My pyramid would switch the meat and bread 🥩🥚>🥪 🍜 😋

Houndish, must agree. The less ingredients on the package the better. If it is multisyllabic (unknown) or says nitrates or nitrites, it doesn't belong in your mouth.

Cb I want to say I would make it 50/50 but I do eat more carbs (unconsciously)

Not sure how I feel about that traditional pyramid, but I agree carbs aren't evil, nor are they any more fattening than too much of any other food!

My wife and I have been on a low-carb "keto" diet since the beginning of September and we have been very successful with it. I was at 300lbs and I'm now (1/16) at 150 and we have had fun with the effort. My wife has lost 25+lbs but she had less to lose than I did. What I have found though is that it seems to be a combination of carbs AND calories that produce the best results for me. You naturally cut calories when you cut carbs it seems. In any case, this has worked very well for us. I try to run at about 30% to 45% of my RDI with under 20 carbs and under 1500 calories per day. Intermittent fasting is also a part of a successful regimen. By that I am doing a late breakfast and early dinner, skipping lunch and snacks other than a stalk of celery here and there.

The stress 🤯 of watching every single item with a microscope 🔬 must be overwhelming. We make things tooo complicated 😣 I guess it’s too hard to accept that it does not take much 🤷🏻‍♀️ Eat mostly healthy foods, eat a piece of cake (key word “a” ) and control calories 😉

Keyten when I did a low carb diet I was miserable 😩 not even because of the junk food. But because it was daunting to think a fruit cause my obesity. 😩

I have friends that do Keto and it does seem to work faster . A lot more of a sacrifice . I think it also depends on how much you want to loose ...

ANYTHING you eat will cause obesity if you eat enough of it. Pay attention to portions, eat until you are comfortably full then STOP, make the healthier choices most of the time. Cut back on processed foods.

@Rosio If you have time would you please tell me an estimate of how many calories you consumed a day and your average level of activity.

I'm not anti carbs but I do restrict carbs to a degree. I love veggies and fruits and they give me my fair share of carbs. I do try to stay away from consuming a lot desserts and breads. I average around 90 to 100 net carbs daily...
