Goal Weight

Still to go: 44.2 lb
I am 27, married, and hoping to start a family soon. The doc said for every 5 pounds I have on me, the less chance of carrying a pregnancy. On top of that, knowing that pregnancy will put on extra weight as it is, I am trying to get to a healthy weight now while enforcing good habits before hand. We will see how it goes.

I am finding this "change in lifestyle" (I refuse to call it dieting) extremely difficult though. I have several medical conditions that tend to wreck havoc on my emotions and I am terrible about emotional eating. Crappy day at work? Hand me the Cheetos! But no more. And it is hard, but all I can do is keep trying right?

I changed my diet which changed my start weight on the graph (annoying much?), so here are the starts and goals:

Start weight: 173
Mini goal 1: 163 (10 pounds)
Mini goal 2: 156 (10%)
Mini goal 3: 143 (30 pounds)
Mini goal 4: 139 (20%)
Goal weight: 133 (40 pounds)

Normal healthy eaters?
Everyone chooses their own way to go about trying to lose weight here. Some support one way, and others support different ways. I have seen people count calories and eat as little as 900 calories or those who eat as many at 1800. Some do Atkins, some do South Beach. There are a gazillion different diets going on in this site. Personally, I try to aim for 1400 calories a day, but I try to listen to my body. If I feel I need more, or even if I just want a treat now and again, then I don't beat myself up over it. I try to lose 1 - 2 pounds a week, if I lose 3, great. If I lose more than that, then I will probably re-examine what I am doing.

In short, everyone is different here. Find the people that think the same way you do, then friend them.

It would be awesome to be able to export your daily journal into a html code for posting to forums or blogs too.

I like the idea of progress charts. Even just adding a bar graph behind the weight line graph so you can see how the two match up. I used to use another site and I liked that part of it. Match your calorie intake with the weight you lose.
