I have been using this site for almost a week now, and I really like it!
I am very interested in the data behind our daily food and exercise diaries and would like to ask for the following improvements:
Ability to see more than just 6 Food Diary Nutrition Facts
Ability to report weekly and monthly graphs
To display the actual nutrition facts versus some goal you would need to set in your profile. This would allow this site to be used by people who have to watch for e.g. sodium intake.
Ability to export data into CSV or spreadsheet
This could overcome some of the lack of data graphing capabilities.
Add weight to full diet calendar
On the diet calendar (full version) it would make sense to see what your weight is doing – as you spend more calories than you take in, you would expect your weight to go down. This would serve 2 purposes: motivational and verification of the accuracy of your logs (did you actually log all food you ate..)
Expand the exercise database
Maybe use the Journal for Sports Medicine database?
Site stats
How many users total, how many new users this week, etc.

Great ideas BFG. With regard to food nutrition facts, if you go into your account, go to the bottom of page and you will find upto 10 choices, including net carbs, sodium, ww points.
(click 'my fatsecret' tab at top. When the new page comes up, look on mid right side and you will see 'account')
I agree with you about expanding the exercise database. Currently, the only option I have is to use the 'other' option (right at the bottom of the exercise drop down menu) and then manually enter data. (This is a trick I learnt from writing to the admin).
I would also like to see the diet ticker not change just because I changed diets. I started off on my own diet but when I started Atkins, it reset my diet ticker. So now it reads that I have only lost 5lbs when in fact, since joining FS, I have lost 15lbs.
Another thing is to change the post format. So many posts get lost in the midst of general topics. For example, they could list the challenges in one category, buddy requests in another etc. It is currently not easy to navigate around the forum posts.
One more thing..please oh please admin be reading this..it would be wonderful to have a chat facility here.

I'm so glad I found this forum! I was thinking earlier today that I'd like to see 'water' as a tracked nutrient. Calories, carbs, fats, points, etc. are all important nutrients to track, but water's an important nutrient as well, and one that most people on an earnest quest to change their lifestyle and eating habits struggle with. If that could be offered as an option, I think that'd be great. Thanks in advance for considering it, admins!

Ability to report weekly and monthly graphs - I would LOVE to have this ability as well!
It would be cool to just present the diet calendar in a graph too (a line graph?) that will display the calories consumed vs calories burned each day. Or something like that.

It would be awesome to be able to export your daily journal into a html code for posting to forums or blogs too.
I like the idea of progress charts. Even just adding a bar graph behind the weight line graph so you can see how the two match up. I used to use another site and I liked that part of it. Match your calorie intake with the weight you lose.

Graphs would be great.
Also, I'd like to somehow see fat/carbs/protein as a % of my total intake. I generally shoot for % and it is a bit of a pain to take my calorie numbers and do all the math.
This is a request I put in my comments for the Android application as well. Most of my use here will be through the phone.

Where can I get the Fatsecret Android App from? is it available for all mobile / cell phones?
Would love the ability to book mark our favourite post kinda like the way we can when we see a recipe we like.

I would like to be able to search for food just within my own Diet Calendar instead of the whole DB. Or have the option to display more items in the Multiple Add section.
Chat would be great too.

I agree with this .. it's a minor annoyance to me when I create a DB entry, and then have to go back and search for it each and every time I use it. I think it would be much more useful to give individuals immediate access to entries they've created, under the assumption that they'd be using them more often than other, similar, DB entries.

I wish the graphic weight-loss bar didn't reset if you change your diet. Or your profile reset to zero.
I started out at 138 and have lost about 7 pounds so far, but the graph only shows the last 1 pound since I changed my diet plan

It is available for the T-mobile G1 right now but eventually there will be more Android phones out there. It is called Calorie Counter. It is pretty limited but it syncs up with the web pretty well.

I would be really interested to see a Nutrtional Facts sticker for each day. I think it would be nice if at the end of the day (or throughout the day) I could look at a single Nutritional Facts sticker to see how I am doing on everything (including vitamins), and to be able to see the recommended DV percentages. That would be really neat - and clean!

Also, I submitted a recipe, but I need to edit it. It would be nice if there were an option to retract a submitted recipe so that one could edit it :/

Alsooo, I noticed that when I want to view
my
posts, it will only show me 4, and I can't find any button to go to the next page or view the rest. There is only a button that says to view more posts, and it ends up showing me everyone's postings. I would like to be able to view all of my posts so that I can go back and see if anyone has responded... help!

I really want the ability to export as a .CSV also. I am sooooo tired of having to copy and paste into excel so I can run my percentage formulas, look at my data in graphs, and calculate my net calories to pounds of weight loss.

Yes... expand the Exercise database! Add yoga (hatha, vinyasa, etc), mat pilates, and reformer pilates ASAP!

I agree with Cijimcb.
I have been doing Kundalini Yoga, its not only stretching but also has calistenics(sic). It uses the Chakras and each one has a different set of exercises and stretches. I know it would be alot to ask as there are 7 Chakras, but it would be nice to see that on the exercise list.
Ok, perhaps that's too much to ask for...
Because of lack of space at my home. I also use a portable mini bike. The good news on that one is, it gives me how many Cals Ive burned. So...
I would like to THANK the administrators of this website for having "Other" as a choice in the exercises section where you can say exactly what you've been up to
